This forum is full of a bunch of kids who don't even listen or read before they get all butt hurt that their personal style is been violated when somebody tries to tell them something.
If you'd chill out and read my post, you'd see that I don't own an RX-7. I was referring to my forum, 300zxclub.com and select Z owners.

And why do you care? If owners want to drag their damn cars all over the ground, let them be. It's when people come on here telling others what IS right from wrong when its just OPINION that starts conflict.

This is where the word CONFORMIST comes into play. Just let us be.

You compared the comments here to those on the Z forum, I simply responded to say that your comparison wasn't valid.

As to why anyone cares, what we're talking about ISN'T opinion, and that's the point. It's mechanical you moron.

Finally, the OP posted asking advice. If nobody wants to listen to good advice, or are going to get their feelings hurt because they aren't "let be" (to be blissfully ignorant presumably), or feels that it invites "conflict", then don't ******* ask.

^Thanks! It's been a long 3 years getting her there but its been incredible. But apparently I'm a moron and my car is too low.

So have you figured out what setup you're gonna go with? Your car is very tastefully done, so I know you'll do it right.

It IS a nice Z, and nobody said it was too low. All anyone said was that it isn't advisable to lower an FD RX7 much past 25" at the fender lips—which will incidentally, look similar to your Z.

Yeah that Z looks amazing. I think we should just let people be...most people here won't even notice the difference in suspension geometry changes mainly because they don't track their cars everyday. Hell most of them don't even care about turning since they street race. I've seen that 90% of car "enthusiasts" will buy coilovers to "lower" their car, fix the alignment and enjoy the new look. Is it dumb to spend thousands of $ just for an appearance mod? yes. Does the car look sweet sitting that low? yes. Lets not forget that roll couple is only ONE way to tune the chassis for roll, not a very accurate one since it changes as the suspension compresses. The stiffer springs and more aggressive shocks more than make up for the loss, especially to someone that could barely notice the difference.

Thank you meng.
I'm probably gunna lower it as low as it'll go, and if there's rubbing.. i'll just raise it up until it doesn't rub. idk. we'll see

On a side note, I wish there were cars like yours around me. I would love to cruise around town with a sick Z like that

My car is lowered on Konis and H&R springs, and it caught onto the raised lip of the gas tank things at the gas station. It actually bent that metal thing that covers the fuel hard lines...So, I'm raising my car.... Just my experience.

Good, because we are laughing at you. I guess you haven't picked up on that though. I could care less what someone does to their car. You can only lead the horse to water...

I guess reading isn't one of your strong points. WTF are you talking about? I never mention anything about drawing a line.

haha... how long have you been out of high school? 2, maybe 3 years? I guess that is the benchmark for measuring the good life these days. Since you inquired, I did just fine for myself in high school... although it's a fuzzy memory these days.

Yo BRO? who says that?

All ball busting aside, it's good to see a newer generation taking an interest in the cars, even if it is drifting(j/k). Maybe I'll see some of you guys at the track one of these days I don't take any of this seriously either.

For good measure, I'll show you a picture of my car when it had Tokico Illumina's and Eibach springs. It now runs Tein HA/Flex and is set up a little lower(25in, just as PTRHahn suggested). IbanezFreak has already seen this picture on the other forum

25" at Fender lips

Actually, some may be the 25.25" that I needed (one spin up on the coilovers) for my older 17" track wheel setup.

There is no "hating" going on here. Nobodies interested in you personally, and you should stop being a child and taking it that way.

The OP started a thread to ask for advice... presumably substantive advice from people with actual knowledge. If all he was looking for was "drop it as low as you can go!", how did that require anyone elses input? He could've done that without asking.

Well stated, I concur.

Howard's thread is probably the best, most informative, and most balanced thread on this entire forum. People who don't make the effort to READ the entire thread and LEARN from it deserve every smack-down they get when they ask stoopid questions in another thread.

anyone got any pics of low rx7's?

I searched.. but came up with a minimal amount of pictures..

I have a really low rx7 gtu and i absolutely hate it. I want to get bigger tires to lift it so i dont have to pick and choose what enterances/exits i can make it through and what driveways wont take out my exhaust. I have to watch every single bump in the road and it does make the ride a little bit more bumpy. I dont have a picture of my car but can easily get one up here if your interested.

aside from more camber wear and such to your tires the ride quality on coilovers should be the same unless your messing with the spring rates. if its just height none of that will be affected.

as for that 25" thing that seems high i might go check mine.............i am at exactly 24" front, and i just raised it about 1/4" a week or so back because i had 17s before and it did rub turning bad enough to make me raise it, the actually fender lip. im on 18s now up there. and inch higher and it would look like total ****. thats my opinion.
on stocker looking cars you can get away with that nice 4x4 gap.

i noticed even on stock wheels i rubbed the fender liners losing those might be a start. ive never had any other issue. but with lower offsets i clear a lot of the stuff other people worry about.
