Question Help! Another Cry :(

Hey guys another cry for help,

I put 18's on my rx7 guess what they are rubbing on the arches.

I need to adjust my coilovers i have my c-spanner ready, and have been told i need to get spring compressors,

Is there anything else i need? And is there any nifty techniques to use?

Also what would be the best oil to use for my rx7? as im running low

Many Thanks for your time,

Sandy

What coilovers do you have? You shouldnt need a spring compressor. You should just be able to loosen the lower lock ring and adjust, remember to count threads. You should use whatever oil is in there, if its been awhile just change it, fuel dilutes it pretty fast anyway.

They are Rays Engineering Coilovers, they havent been moved in a long time, ive tried with just the c-spanner but they are not budging, so spring compressors might be the key?

Yes you can adjust the height on the coil overs or you can get the right offset wheels.

I'm runningthe following set up with no rubbing at all:

Volk Racing GT-P 18 X 9J Type “A” +18 offset Front with Yokohama ADVAN Neova 225/45R18

Volk Racing GT-P 18 X 10J Type “C” +17 offset Rear with Nitto NT 555R Extreme Drag Radial 305/35R18

You shouldn't need a spring compressor once the car is up and the weight is off the components. There is probably a set-screw somewhere on the lower spring perch which needs to be loosened before it will spin.
Search for more info on which oil.

Note: Do you have all four wheels off the ground? If you've only jacked up one side of the car, there will still likely be too much tension still on the springs. You've got to get each END off the ground, or the whole car up.
