Hankook Ventus R-S2. Anyone have these?

Specs: Treadwear: 200 • Traction: A • Temperature: A • Speed Rating: ZR

"The Ventus R-S2 Z212 was created from the successful Ventus RSS Z211 racing design, brought to the street with improved road contact surface area for dry traction and a tread design featuring exceptional water dispersion for wet conditions. The result is a street tire delivering maximum grip with the proven Ventus Ultra-High Performance tread compound."

I searched but only came up with one result that mentions these tires briefly. Im curious about them since nobody mentions Hankook when shopping for tires.

Anyone have personal experience with these?

I have a set on the FD, been to one autox at camarillo, but the course was slippery. I"ll have a better idea after this saturday's practice.

I had those on my turbo tiburon when I used to live in Korea a year ago.
Supposely the best korean performance tire and compete with Kumho MX and NEOVA. Gives you good handling and stickiness while you are on the track.

Well here's a little video for you.

I'm seriously considering purchasing Hankook Ventus RS2 Z212 tires! I'm looking at 245/45/16 on stock FD wheels. Positive reviews by autocrossers on SCCAforums.com and various other boards. Although, I heard the Z212 are not legal for Street Touring AutoX class. Compares favorably to Azenis ST615 and Kumho MX. Nice pricing too! Check online at www.edgeracing.com and www.discounttiredirect.com (free shipping). I'm going to see if my local America's Tire or Discount Tire Center can price match.

These are not bad at all for the price. Performance is equivelent of Falken Azenis rt215. The problem is that the biggest 17" size they come in is 245/45/17, the tread width is also smaller than the equivelent Azenis tires. If they come in 255 and bigger, it'll be great for the FD. The treadwear rating is pretty low, around 200 iirc, so probably not a good idea for street tires.

I have a set, and they are the best tires i've owned so far. I took 2nd place at the rotary revilution (FC group) on them, and Im an autoX n00b.

the large circomfrencial (sp?) grooves provide great hydroplane resistance also.

check out the SCCA, and corner-carver forums for their oponions.
