fortune auto coilovers, thoughts?

Im about to upgrade my suspension in my FD and ive been toying around with alot of different coilover setups. One of my friends recommended fortune auto coilovers (he had some for his s13 and loved em) but im wondering if anyone has em/has run em before and what their thoughts on em were.

Fortune auto is the same as Stance XR and DG-5. Fortune Auto is actually the manufacturer and it's rebranded for DG-5 and Stance. It's impossible to tell if the valving is changed but my feeling is that they are identical except for the paint.

Are you sure about this?

Where is Fortune Auto's Factory in Japan?

I did some investigating and am showing you the factory for Fortune Auto.

Based out of Taiwan.

http://www.windflowers.com.tw/index....e=42&Prod_ID=6

This is the information I was provided. These are not made in Japan as are the DG5 and Stance XR. They are not the same product by any means. The only thing in common is they use Swift springs on some of their coils.

Come on Rishie you know better then that now
Fortune Auto is not made by windflowers. PBM is made by Windflowers not Fortune. Fortunes are made of various parts from Japan and Taiwan (Mostly Taiwan) They are serviced in the USA at their facility.

And Stance is not made in Japan either its made in South Korea...not saying thats bad just stating facts.

To the OP Google Fortune Auto Review and you should be able to get more info

not sure yet, gotta find out what kind of discount my friend is getting me, since he owes me a bit. id like to get the swift springs if it fits in the budget, with rates for aggressive street, maybe an occasional autocross.

what did you go with?

ahh i got ya, yea the swift springs were not in the budget for me but i figure if i feel my springs are lacking at all i can always upgrade.

I ended up going with 12k/10k, im setting up the car for aggressive track/drift, minimal street use so it seemed like a good idea.

that sounds like a good rate for your goals.

im thinking a 10/8 for my setup, since im more street oriented... but ill consult with some experts before purchasing

when are yours going on?

nice, yea the 10/8 should be great for street imo

mine are goin in as soon as they arrive haha, i placed the order a couple weeks ago but when the retailer called the fortune warehouse they didnt have any FD strut bodies in stock so they had to make a new set for me. Theyre supposed to get here this week but well see.

on a side note tho, cant get much more minty fresh then that haha

My bad, this is the info I was provided. I was actually just trying to indicate that these coilovers are not all the same and that Fortune is not the manufacturer of the aforementioned brands.

GR+ series stance are produced in S. Korea but the XR series coilover comes from a different factory based out of Japan from what I understand. The XR are rebuildable as are the Fortunes.

I believe the Fortunes offer a great service in that you can order them custom out of the box. Only downside is waiting for them to get valved but that's a small sacrifice to make.

Thanks, Rishie

yea I got em in the mail a bit ago. It was probably about a 2-2.5 week turn around total. Would been less them that but some little part they had to import got stuck in customs. The fd is taken apart in the garage atm while im doin a bunch of other work so I can't yet say how they perform. But craftsmanship and quality just from inspection looks fantastic

I have fortunes 500 series and I drift my car about once a month. Out if the box they came with 10k 8k springs. For the street this was super awesome. I like my car on the stiff side so I went with a 13k 12k. You can look on youtube for respecgarage. I personally know the owners and they stand behind their product. Great service and always very professional people. If anyone needs pictures or videos my car pm me. I used to have stance coilovers and these ride better. Custom valving and assembly in richmond, va was my main reason for getting these

I sell pretty much all of the set-ups mentioned but plan to use FA 500s on my FD. Terry and crew really back their products and are passionate about what they build.

I plan to run the 500 series with Swift Spring / roller bearing upgrade when I get around to suspension mods.

fortune auto 500

Got a '93 FD and just got a set of Fortune Auto 500 Series Coilovers with Swift springs installed. The car handles like it's new. It had stock shocks on and racing beat springs.
I don't race my car on the track. Just wanted something fun to drive on the weekends.
