FD +45 enkei with 265/40

Does anyone run a 265/40/17 on the 17x9 +45 enkei on the FRONT. Rear is not an issue cause I know it will fit.

Just wanted to know if it fits without a roll.

You will need a slight roll on the front fender.

Why not just run a 255/40? The 265 will yield a fat sidewall, probably won't look very good.

I agree with Goodfella, 255/40 would be the way to go. You have a wide selection of tires including sticky street tires like the the Falken RT-615, Bridgestone RE-01R, Nitto NT05, Toyo R1R and super sticky R-comps like BFGoodrich R1, Toyo R888, Nitto NT01 (Hoosier, Hankook, and others have R-comps but their names elude me). The 265/40/17 offering is scarce I believe.

that's what I'm thinking. I know 255's are the norm, but I heard some people run 265's. I would rather not deal with rolling fenders and touching bodywork, so I'm most likely going to do 255's.

most likely going to be some new R888's in the new for this year softer GGG compound. the autoX club I'm with is getting a new toyo sponsorship this year, so since I'm on the executive team I get a smoking deal. the new GGG compound is supposed to be comparable to Khumo V710's compound. I loved my GG R888's (harder tire) that I had last year for track days so I'm going to give these new ones a go.

btw, its for AutoX, solo1 (standing start time attack) and hillclimb.

265 is a popular width for 18 inch tires, there is a wide selection for 265/35/18s.

I ran a 245/40 front tire on a 17x8.5 rim for many years and really liked the look of it and the stance of the car in relation to the 275/40 and 17x10 rears......

I run 255/40/17 all around on SSR 17 x 9 +45. Doubtful it would fit w/o rubbing. Especially if you actually drive the car the way it was intended to

you probably don't run as much front camber as I do, so I'm not going to worry about it.

And it looks like you have H&R's? With coils and a nice swaybar with good mounts it should be fine.

^Depends on the offset
Check out the thread stickied in this forum for wheel sizing in case Rich doesn't see this.

after reading through the enkei thread in the sponsor section, it seems that many people run the 18x9.5 +45 with 265/35's on them and they fit.

One guy is running 17x9.5 +38 with 265/40 and they fit with a roll. you will have a very hard time finding 17x10 enkeis.
