NV Extreme Caster Issue

The other night I was driving to the store **** at my girlfriend(Fighting again)!!! I made a u-turn and went in to hot and not enough grip, and the rear kicked me back out. I got blinded by my Shift light and couldnt see. So needless to say I ended up sliding into a curb. Dented 2 wheels and blow the front pass. side shock. I replace the shock last night and I still have the caster issue from the impact. I couldnt tell I had it untill this morning when I drove to work. I dont have to fight it as much when steering like yesterday. I hear and feel it rubbing I dont know where though. I turn the wheels and looked on both side and on the pass side it looks like the steering rod isn't straight. I only get the squeel from the pass. side tire like it's toed out when I'm goin straight. If any one can help please do.

figure out what is bent and replace it. if you are unable to do that yourself, take it to an alignment shop, explain the situation and request that they identify bent components.

I'll have it figured out by this weekend I just need to know if anyone had any heads up. This is my 1st 7. It was murder get the damn shock on last night. I've done suspension on my old GC8 Impreza, CRX and both of my Integras and working at WV and Saturn I've did them. I just never came across it that bad bcause if im not mistaken you can adjust the caster on these cars? Not to sure but I read it some where. All the cars I've delt with have been either FWD or AWD. I never had to deal with caster at all. It has always been Toe and Camber, so I hope you can see why I ask the question and my damn Haynes book dont tell me anything. All I've done so far has been by looking and figuring out from other car prior this one. All cars my not be the same but there built on the same principal!!!

there is no stock caster adjustment

FC front and rear suspension is bizarrely super simple. on the front you have a shock, a knuckle, a y-shaped LCA, and a ball joint that is a seperate piece bolted to (rather than pressed into) the LCA. caster adjustment would be added to this setup using either diagonal or dual slotted camber+caster plates. weird.

mosey on over to teamfc3s.org and you can download a FSM for it for free. you can see the components before you go at it. good luck.

I got up under the car the other day and Seen that with the impact it looks like I shifted the A-arm looking thing that hold it all together. pushing it up not sure if thats all case the subframe looks ok just by being under the car i see a slight difference in driver and pass. side. Nothing else looked bent so how should I go by fixing it? A little info from anyone that may know alittle more would really help me out. thanks

post pics.

if one of the components is bent, replace it.
if the car chassis itself is bent, you'll need to get it straightened.

I Have to do it over the week hours changed and will be working 7 days a week with little chacne to get back under the car and fix it myself.
Oh just bought the car fixed the front due to a wreck and the old owner let it sit and it flooded. Sunday When I was up under her and banged the hell out of it with a 4 lbs sledge hammer parked her. She flooded on me again so I had to search here to find out about the unflooding process. Found that the plugs where installed wrong!!! Both leadin in the front and both trailing where in the back how bad is that??? The guys mechanic was seriously lacking sence. I put them back to how it's supose to be and she runs a little better but a little slower!!!

NV Found The Problem

Bent Ball Joint!!! Its funny I went to pick a part today due to this was my only day off. First I took off the pass side front wheel, Took pics and found that the bracket of the ball joind was bent causein the caster problem. Got to pick a part and got to the Only RX7 they had and found that the A Arm on the 88 and 90 are completely different. the 90 is a one piece and the 88 is 2 pieces. So I had to get one off a 89 323. Didnt get a chance to try to put it on yet. Spent all damn day tryin to put my window regulator on to work. Which it still doesnt work !!!

unless you are absolutely positive the 323 lca is the same as the rx7's, go to www.car-part.com and get a junkyard one shipped to you for like $30 bucks
