Enkei RPF1 Wheel Opinion / Review - chime in whenever

So,
I noticed the RPF1 wheel by Enkei to be a pretty popular wheel. Does anyone have any experience with this wheel and what size/tire do you run? I want to put them on mine but I have to justify the cost.

Has anyone noticed any difference on the street or track?

A member on these boards offers a pretty great deal on 18x9.5 45mm offset with a nice set of falkens for a pretty hard to beat price, but that is still over 2k$. They are a nice looking wheel, but I just wanted to make sure there was more than meets the eye.

thank you mod for moving this!

IMO, you need to first find out:

1. Why you need/want wheels

Are you going for an updated look? Want more rubber for tracking? Need a larger wheel for a BBK?

IMO, if you have to ask if the wheels are worth it, you should probably wait until you find a wheel which you don't have to ask.

Keep in mind moving to a larger and heavier wheel and tire setup will slow the car down in the lower gears, and replacement tires are more expensive. For cars on stock twin turbos, there is really something to be said for the stock wheels.

Of course, I went out and got brakes so big I can't use the damn things anymore

They are quite light, and very well priced.

You do realize you could probably get a NEW set with NEW tires for ~$2K. edgeracing.com is your friend.

I have the older RP01s, 17 X 9, 43 offset. They weight about 17 pounds.

I run 245/45-17 front and 275/40-17 rear. Any smaller tire than 245 would look too small for the wheel. 275 are the largest to easily go on and not look too big for the wheel.

If you car is lowered, you might need to roll the rear fenders.
