I would say no, just because you probably won't heat them up a lot (unless you do a lot of highway driving) and all you'll do is tear them up pretty quick.

Pointless to run a race tire on the street. You'll waste money paying for a tire that will not live up to its' ability and you'll either chew them up or turn them into stones quickly with daily driving. Being a race tire they also don't ride well. Buy a street tire.

Trying to run a competition style tire as a daily drive is a really bad idea you would belucky to get 1,000 street miles out of them. The tires are not designed for stop and go street traffic. You will end up having spent alot of money on tire that will not last. Racing tires also have extremely stiff sidewalls will ride terrible but more to the point they will not offer any give on unperfect road surfaces. This can cause damage to the tire sidewall and tread belts.

265/45/16

I plan on running the victor racers in the 265/45/16 on a 9 1/2" rim and the 225/50/16 on the front 8" rims. people have run these on the street before no problem ,I wouldn't shave them and seeing how its a fair weather car you might get some life out off them.. If its a lite car all the better. Just my $.02 dave..
