Durability of SSR Competitions

I'm considering the SSR Competitions and will use them on the street. Searching around the forum, I see comments questioning their durability for street use but not much evidence of people bending them other than the Miata link.

Does anyone have these wheels? How do they hold up on the street?

My other concern is caliper clearnance. Anyone run these with a big brake kit. if so which one?

TIA,
Jack

I have heard of ONE local FD bending an SSR Comp in street driving. I have never heard of anyone on the forum having this problem. Manny drove on Comps on the street and track for years and never had a problem.

I think it's safe to say they are more easily damaged than the stock rims, especially in an 18" size, but I wouldn't hesitate to run them myself. I would love to run 18x9.5 +50 Comps all around with 265/35s, almost as much as I'd love to run the same size SSR GT-2s.

The Comps have great caliper clearance, you'll be definitely fine in 18", and should be able to run 17", even with Stoptech's. Manny ran 17" Comps up front with the 99+ Mazda brakes.

SSR is claiming the -H models are now 50% stronger then the old ones.

Damn, those are seriously nice....very jealous, man. Not only great looking but look how the spokes bow out to allow for some serious brake caliper clearance....
