DIY ms-01 Refinishing
Hey guys, i spent the whole day today re-finishing my MS-01's. I just got the lips all done, and ill be doing the centers tomorrow. I think they turned out great! Im very happy with it. Just used 300 then 600 800 and 1000 grit sandpaper, then polished to my hearts content.
Heres some Before/ After pics.
Il update tomorrow, once i re finish the centers in Gun metal, complete with the "Mazdaspeed" Vynal.
Cheers,
Mark

Thanks.... I used Duplicolor Wheel paint. Its the Graphite color. As well Used 3 coats of Duplicolor Primer before and Duplicolor Professional Clear coat.
http://www.duplicolor.com/products/wheel.html
For the Lip refinishing..
Sanded with 300 Grit.
Then used 600 Grit
Then 800 Grit
Then wet sanded with 1200 grit
And well then slap on some mothers alum. polish, and polish about 4 times.
the rims are all around +35, so i cant wait to get them on the FD and see how they will fit.

GREAT job on a DIY project. I too refinished my old stock wheels years ago. I sand blasted and then paited but messed up a bit on the application of the clear coat. You need thick coats, not thin. Oh well, I don't even use them anymore.
