ARD T2 - Even though the timing isn't perfect - buying wheels & tires never is - I will support a buy on kinesis or Volks. I've been struggling on finding the clear winner (looks & weight & size).

I'm thinking a perfect look would be a 17 in front and a 18 in rear. The low hood line of the 18 in front looks oversized in the pics I've seen. size-wize I'd like a 235 in front and a 275 in the rear. I think a 245 in front would take away from the "nimbleness" that the car has. I've already owned a MKIVTT and don't want another.

If this sounds reasonable - I like the gram lights for weight & price & simple elegance and the fm/10's & kinesis for looks.

Let's talk!

Fikse Profil 13

http://www.fikse.com/profil13.html

My personal favorite is the Fikse Profil 13 in 10 x 18 with 285/30-18 Bridgestone Potenza S-02s (Porsche OE tires) all the way around.

The Profil 13s are wife-approved, and despite their expense, I will probably break the bank for this wheel/tire setup in 2004 (sigh...)

SleepR1...

I know what you mean. I was all stoked about getting a group buy from Rishie for the Fikse!

Now with their smug attitude it puts a damper on things....but right now it is my most preferred wheels.

I also like the Profil 13,

I was looking more at the 17 inch size but everyone seems to like the "cooper" fitment. Is that what you are shooting for?

I have been endlessly searching the web for what the 13's or MAchV look like on as many cars as possible but definitely havn't seen one on a FD

BTW, what sort of polish are you going for??

Profil line only comes in 18 or 19 diameters. The AROs do come in 17s, but that wheel looks a bit busier than the Profil 13s http://www.fikse.com/aro.html If I were doing 17 AROs I'd get 9.5 x 17, 50.4-mm offset with 255/40-17s all around.

Because the Profil 13s only come in 18, the maxcooper fitment would be the way to go, 10 x 18, 50.4-mm offset. 285/30-18 is about as much rubber is you'll need at all 4 corners on a lightweight FD...overkill, really, but damn the cooper fitment LOOKS GOOD

I'll be going for maximum bling--FULL POLISH! http://www.fikse.com/finishes.html

Damn that is some major BLING!

Yea in my post I didn't mean to suggest that the Profil came in 17...I knew they only come in 18 and 19.

I wonder what the 18" Profil 13 weigh??

Did you happen to get any pricing from Rishie?

I will probably buy wheels here pretty soon...but that is some major jack for wheels...wow!

I'd guess 20 to 21 lbs each for a 10 x 18 Profil 13. I did not get pricing from Rishie on the new Profil line. I'd still give him a try before calling Fikse directly...Best of luck! I know you'll love the Profil 13s as much as I plan to
