Crooked willow antisway bar brace for fd

Can anyone tell me what happened to the braces on there web site (gone). I emailed but did not receive a reply. Can i buy them from somone else or should i just go with the tri-point braces? I thought i read a few posts about how much better the crooked willow braces were. I have the tripoint speedway bar installed but am worried about cracking the factory mounts. DC

You have the bar on already? I didn't think you could mount it without the Tripoint braces because the bar mounts are different. Mine is on solid bronze bushings; did they have another type available?

yes i have it on, it came with poly bushings and brackets to mount to the original holes. the bronze bushings are an option as are the tri point braces.

David Breslau designed and manufactures the Widefoot Racing swaybar mounts. Crooked Willow used to sell these, as well as some of David's other items. Now you should contact David directly. Try to PM him (WidefootRacing) or email him directly at dbreslau@continuumphotonics.com

I've had David's widefoot gas pedal extender (the smaller one) for years, and his swaybar mounts for about a year. Top notch stuff.

I will never you cwc stuff again. I ordered their oil cooler mount kit for my 20b as it was supposed to be a bolt in. To make a very long story short, the hoses were too short, the fittings didn't fit, the casting which split the oil lines leaked...the actual casting was of such poor quality that the oil seeped through it. I had to get different hose ends made up as I could use the splitter...end result 300 out of my pocket with plus the 800 I spent on the oil cooler system. It took over two months for a reply from cwc and then I was told, maybe we can give you a deal on something else you buy. They wouldn't even replace the parts that were defective. My advice, stay away from anything associated with CWC. I gave them every opportunity as I had heard good things about them....

Well, as was already posted, David is the one who designed, developed and sells the mounts. As I understand it, he happened to sell the mounts through CW for a while, but stopped. So really, these mounts and the original poster's question have nothing to do with your CW oil cooler experience.

I have the Tri-Point front sway bar mount braces with an Eibach 32-mm OD, tubular front sway bar. I can vouch for how well the Tri-Point works. When my front sway bar connection broke at Mid Ohio (sending my car into violent and sudden oversteer), the failure occurred at the fusion weld where the front end link bolt inserts into the hollow sway bar tube...the failure did NOT occur at the sway bar mounts, where others have had sway bar failures. The Tri-Point braces did their jobs, and they also showed how failure-prone Eibach's "fusion-weld" technique is...I've since had the endlink bolts TIG-welded into the sway bar tube, so those bolts won't pull out again!

SleepR1: So you had a sway bar failure then? (At the end of the bar where it bolts to the end link, right?) Wow, never heard of that. So did you replace the end links while you were at it? The only replacements I've seen in my search are sold by Mazdatrix http://www.mazdatrix.com/h93-95b.htm

Anyone else have these? They are less than half the cost of the stock links but are they really an upgrade? DamonB: what do you think about them?

Re: bar failure?

The bar itself did not break but the weld that attaches the endlink bolt to the bar broke. No I didn't replace the endlinks...they were fine.

The links are certainly bulletproof and since they are adjustable you can account for any preload that may be in the bar with the car loaded. Certainly a step up from stock; I would use them with any aftermarket bar tht uses the stock drop links (like the Racing Beat).

My Tripoint front bar also has the solid bronze bushings and the Tripoint braces. Everytime I have the belly pan off I always check the mounts closely and everything is great so far. I would still like to go to upgraded aftermarket mounts but have yet to do so.

Hi Sevenup,
I'm back to selling the Widefoot product line directly again, as
I'm starting to make Widefoot Racing Co. a "real" company, with a 6K sf
building I'm buying in New Hampshire.

As I'm not (yet) a sponsoring member of the RX7Club forum, I
don't want to make this a sales pitch, but do want to let people know
that they can contact me anytime if they have questions about my products.

My email address is "dbreslau@mit.edu", my cell is 781-254-6022.

Thanks, David Breslau

Hi Bermuda,
As artowar2 mentioned, the Widefoot line of products are entirely
mine, and were sold through CWC, as well as directly from me. Now that
Widefoot Racing Co. is about to be launched, I've taken the line back. If you
decide you want to try any of my products, please mention this message
and I'll give you an additional %10 off the list pricing to make up for the past
disappointments.

Thanks, David Breslau

tks for the offer David,

Send me a pm as to your catalog\products you carry (campbell20b@northrock.bm). My car is pretty much completed (if that is possible) but I am always looking to upgrade.

So everyone is clear, I wouldn't buy from cwc because of their service. It is tough to be responsable for every individual product as that is out of the owner's control. What is not out of the owner's control is how he provides service to the client. My post was relevant as I was relating experience of that company and the service to be expected if any additional parts are ordered through them.

Service like what David apprears to be offering is what makes loyal clients.
