Is Carbing (Type II) the only 3 point strut bar on the market for an FD?
Hey guys, I was looking to get a 3 point strut bar to replace my current CorkSport unit and the only one I seem to see is the carbing unit...
Are they the only ones with that type of design? Anyone else out there that makes a solid piece that looks and performs as well?

Carbing is going to be the cheapest, they aren't known for top notch quality products.
Autoexe - also available in red
Re-amemiya
There are a couple other tri-point strut bars on the Japanese market. You are looking at about $399 + international shipping for a used one.

So from the nice looks of things...the Carbing and RE-Amemiya are very similar...the AutoExe seem a bit more webby like 6 point, but im sure pretty stiffy as well...
Thanks...

I've seen the carbing part in person.
It's very nice, I have to disagree with Bryan about their quality.
The welds looked top notch.
Don't invest too much worry into a strut tower bar, it's not that big of a deal...
Expensive and cheap ones do the same job (some better than other, I will admit)
But I doubt it will trim any time off your laps.
Vanity.

I figure that Mazda wanted to save weight so much the we didn't even get a cupholder or any sound deadening in the doors...yet the R1 and 2's have both front and rear STBs.
Good enough for them, good enough for me.

The R1 bar mounts on top of it.
The Nagisa braces:

If you need or want either, I can help you source it.

I think the R-magic bar is top notch cause it binds on two different spots on the chasis so all the forces from the wheel-wells in high g-corners don't apply pressure to just one point. The curious thing about this bar though, is that in the official r-majic site it states that it can't be used with the stock hood.No other selling point (i.e. RHD-Japan) mentions this.....go figure

Function wise, there's nothing wrong with that red one. It's all in the engineering! FYI! Structurally, strut mounts are designed to do two things. 1. Reinforce the area to which they are attached. 2. Allow for some "give/bending" during an impact. You don't want a strut mount that's engineered so strong that is causes damage to the other side of the vehicle during an impact. An over engineered aluminum unit can do the same damage. That's why all the well engineered frames have bends. That red subframe will do it's job just fine as well as mine will. Looks wise, I have something in mind that will make it look really nice. Stay tuned!

For both Carbing and RE-Amemiya 3 point strut bar, will they fit Left Hand Drive FD3S? Or it will ONLY fit RHD FD? (Since the brake/clutch fluid reservoir position are reversed).
Here is a photo from Carbing website, and this is a RHD FD3S
As you can see, the left side strut bar is very close to the brake/clutch fluid reservoir. I wonder if it's a LHD, will it fit? (Since the length and the bent angle of the two strut bars on the left and right are different)
Here is another view installed on RHD FD:
Anyone have any photos of these 3 point strut bar installed on a Left Hand Drive FD3S? The brake/clutch fluid reservoir is on the right side for the LHD FD3S. Will the brake/clutch fluid reservoir block the way of the strut bar???
