Here is my input and I have the RE-01R's on my car now and the only complaint is the wet weather traction but the RE-11's should have fixed that problem. We will see in the next few months.

They are around the same prices and the RE-01R's not twice the price. You might need to look at shopping at some other shops for tires!!!

My next question to everyone is why does everyone goto Tire rack for tires? I understand they have some good prices but there are other places that will give you a better deal.

The RE-01R's are actually on sale right now on tirerack... 80$ a tire for a set of 245/45/17 I bought. I say stick with them, their great tires.

It was in reference to the NT-05 versus the RE-01R/RE-11. Given reviews, and the fact that I'm not running competitive Time Attack or anything, I see no reason to buy the Bridgestones over the Nittos

They are on clearance, not on sale. Also, they are a 2005 production year. Don't trust the website, you have to call to see what they actually have.

I stand corrected. Even so, if I were to go get them at a local tires plus or action gator, they would be over twice the price and probably the same production year if not older. Tire places only purchase new tires when old ones are out of stock...

Their still going to last 40-70k depending on how I feel like driving on them so 80$ a tire was a good deal in my book.

I've run Bridgestone tires over the years, to include S02 pp's and S03 pp's and while I liked them (the 02's more than the 03's) they were always very heavy tires. I see that hasn't changed, the 245/40-17 RE-11 is 26 pounds, a comparable size Michelin PS2 is only 22 pounds, a huge difference......

I run the RE-01R's on my daily driver and they are great. I do not have much experience with the Nitto's but you pay for what you get.
When it come to weight yeah they are a little more but they will also last a lot longer. I had a Porsche owner come over to my shop and he was getting about 6 to 8K from his PS2. Well the whole clearance things from Tire Rack is great but Bridgestone still has a lot of RE-01R's out there with newer DOT's you just have to go other places.
