Bridgestone RE750's

Supposedly designed with the joint venture technology UNI-T (same stuff in the Firestone Firehawks). I know the Firehawk SZ50's are great street tires. Anybody heard anything about the RE750's yet? My street tires are about down to the cords. It's that time again.

I used to use the RE730 and they were awesome street tires. I'm sure that the 750, being the upgrade is much better as well. If you want a good, long lasting street tire that doesn't go bad for a long time, go with the RE750

I have the 730 now. I like the tires, except that they are loud. The 750 has a significantly different tread pattern, and is supposed to be quieter. $128 for 245/45/16 isn't too bad. I was thinking of getting the Yoko ES100, around $100 each.

Any thoughts on comparing the two?

The Tirerack reviews are kinda suspect. Plus, 3 reviews is not a good sample size.

Well, my current (almost corded) tires are the Yokohama AVS Intermediates (which were the predecessors to the ES100's). So I can give the comparo of those two. The 750's are ordered ... hopefully, I make out good on this deal.

There are more reviews. Click on the button for more reviews. Please let us know what you think of the tires. Keep in mind that new tires are almost always far better than worn out tires.

I had the AVS Intermediates on my FB. Always thought they were good tires. Pretty stiff sidewalls.

I thought I'd update.

Great tires!!! A little squirmy at first, but after they scrubbed in ... wow! Very grippy. No loss of traction during low gear acceleration. Very stable during high load and confidence-inspiring on high speed transitions. Ride quality is much improved over the AVSi's. As smooth as the Koni Yellows allow it to be. The road noise is fairly quiet ... but my AC doesn't work, so my windows are always open (so it could be excellent, but the Texas summer won't permit me to know that). I'll have to comment on that and the wet traction at a later date.

These are the first set of tires that I've owned that have a rim guard. Very cool feature .. especially for everyone with expensive wheels. For the price, I think these tires are a great deal. They've got my stamp of approval.

Thanks for the update. What size did you get, and how much? Tire rack?

Thanks, Adam

Still on stockers, so 245/45 16. I bought them through Tirerack for $128/ea. I didn't do any price matching because I always get such good service through Tirerack. You might be able to find a better deal out there.

These tires rock ... so much that I got another speeding ticket this morning (the non-defensive driving dismissable type .. ouch).

That's the size I'm looking at. Also considering the Yokohama ES100. They are $93 at the tire rack. I don't know if the 750's are worth an extra $35 each. That's $140!!!

Sorry about the ticket. Hope you can do traffic school. I used this one in CA. Took about an hour.

I've been told that the ES100's don't last very long. They're pretty sticky, but the treadwear is not so good. The RE750's have a 340 UTQG ... which may not mean anything, but if they last longer than my AVSi's did, then I'll be a happy guy. I'm extremely happy with the quieter ride now. I don't absorb bumps anymore.

As far as the ticket .... another expensive lesson for me.

I would like to get around 10k-12k out of a set of tires. Anything more than that won't give me that grip I want due to too hard of a rubber compound. I don't want a 5k tire either. Don't want to buy new ones in a year.

The RE750's are symmetrical too. So, if you're like me, and run a fair amount of negative camber, you'll wear the inside tread faster. But, being a symmetrical tire, you can flip 'em and get a lot more life out of them. I expect to get a year out of these tires.

I drive my FD about 4-5k a year, so I hope to get 2-3 years from a set of tires. I don't run any extra negative camber, just the stock alignment settings, so my tires wear pretty evenly.

I went to an autocross last Sunday. There were about 160 entries. I think I beat everyone that was running regular (non-R) tires, even the vettes in my class. This is on was on my worn out Bridgestone 730's. I don't think I will be changing that alignment setting anytime soon.
