Brembo Rotors Rust spots
not sure if is where this post needs to be but it is where it is. my question is I recently got a front set od cross drilled/slotted Brembo rotors and these things show rust spots at a drop of water. is this normal? and is there anything i put on them or use to clean them?
thanks in advance for advice.

At least in my experience there's not much you ca do about that except to lightly drag the brakes to clean the rust off. The metal on the rotor is like, if you can imagine, untreated steel. I'm guessing cuz of the constant heat produced from friction and also the rubbing of the pad against the rotor, they really can't put any rust inhibitors on the rotor. My 2 cents.

If you park ur car outside and it rains, the rotors will rust. This happens to cars at dealerships. The rust will come right off after a short drive. If you have any pits in your rotor, that may cause persistent rusting as your pads don't touch the rust in the pits. I doubt if you are experiencing this though.

Ceramic paint.
I knew this would happen to my brakes, so when they were new I masked the braking surfaces and painted the rest with a heat rated ceramic paint. It looked great when installed but when I would wash the car the braking surface would develop a film of rust that was not all removed by the pads, I have 2 rings of rust (which I scotch brite off soon after washing) on the rear rotor, one on the outer edge and one on the inner edge both about 1/4 inch wide. On the front rotors the rust band is on the inside edge. I would like brake pads that use the entire surface of the rotor.
I saw some of the newer brembos are plated so this does not happen to the non braking surfaces.
Maybe next time.
