Brand new XXR 522 wheels
Well im probably the first person to have these wheels on a FD with this offset. ordered them just as they released and waited 2 and half months for them to come in the offset that i wanted. i love to fitment. i did have to roll the fenders though. let me know what you guys think. and please dont ask me for the size and offsets.

i will tell the size and offset in time. but these wheels are so cheap a crap load of people will end up with these wheels. so id like to keep my car as original for as long as possible.

go buy yourself some volks then. but i decided on cheaper wheels so i could put more into better tires. i figured some of you might like to see what they look like, cause there arent many pictures of these wheels on vehicles right now. but i personally like them.

if everyone really wants to know the specs here they are:
18 x 9.5 38mm offset front
18 x 9.5 25mm offset rear
Nitto Invo tires
255/35/18 front
275/35/18 rear
i spent almost double for the tires as i did the wheels after taxes before mounting and bal and the road haz plan.
i dont track this car. but i do like to drive aggressively sometimes. so i didnt see a need for top of the line wheels. i felt that the tires were a lot more important for my daily driver. there are plenty of wheels i would have like to get over these wheels (ie Work XD9s in endurance black) but the only reason i even got new wheels in the first place was so i could run wider tires, otherwise id just stay with stock wheels.
i do highly recommend the Nitto Invos by the way. so far they are quieter then the bfg kdws 245 wide tires and the previous dunlop sp 8000 225 wide tires i had. they seem to be just as comfortable as the 2 previous tires on stock rims even though the new wheels are 18s. traction is far better than before also (maybe its just the wider tire, so its not a fair comparison). havent had them in heavy rain yet so i cant tell you about wet weather traction.
i sit on mazdaspeed coilovers if anyone is wondering.

and that is exactly what i was looking for, a great street tire. if i wanted to really compete and track my car, i would have gone with either the nt01 or nt05r. but the tread life on those go down significantly for a street tire.

Careful, XXR wheels are Sportmax equivalents. They're very brittle and have a tendency to reach their critical stress points faster than most wheels - cheap Chinese metal. But the good thing is that they're so friggin' cheap you can always buy a spare or two.

Unless he's competing, weight is not a huge deal (strength is more important). If he was competing, I'm sure he would have went a different direction.

was waiting to see these on an FD before I made up my mind about them they look quite a bit better than I expected looks better than the weapons I got rid of thats for sure. did you roll the fenders yet?

This is an unfair statement.
The 002's i USED to own i've seen pictures of the barrels intact but the entire part where the fake bolts go cracked completely off. Spokes left intact. Some designs are weaker than others.
I almost sent in $425 to get a 17/18 stagger set of the 522's in chromium black. Being the impatient bastard i am and getting told through vendors that had them LISTED ON THEIR SITES "container will be here next month" I'd call back a month later....no wheels, another month....still no wheels..... Said "screw it" bit the bullet and paid $800 for mb battles instead. For drift spares, i do want some 18's to run out back and since these are so cheap i'll get them sooner or later. They look good on your fd bro!
For the money, you can't beat them. If you're a (person who likes high quality wheels), buy something else. They look good on your fd! The 15 and 16 version of those wheels look absolute (like poo) and i mean that in the worst possible way.

these wheels in anything less than a 18 diameter rim will look terrible i think. when i originally bought the wheels, i called a couple companies and asked if the spokes stick out pass the face of the rim at all. and they told me that they do not on the 18x9.5s. i took their word for it, and low and behold...the spokes stick out pass the face a little bit. not terribly noticable, but enough for it to bother me. i still like the rims on the car though. so for the price i can deal with it. 18x9.5 5zigen FN01rcs weigh about the same as these do. the fno1rc in 17x10 weigh in at about 23lbs. so unless u go with some SSRs, Work, Volk, etc. you wont find too many much lighter than 22-24lbs. so if u guys want these wheels to look anywhere decent. stick with 18s and above.

They're pretty much clones of gp gravity gullflames..... The style of wheel merits the bottom of the spoke to poke past the lip slightly. Super, mega, ultra concave. I like it.
The way they poke in 16 and 15 inch versions is gross (not sure if gp screws with silly civic sized wheels). 17-20 inch sizes are just nom, nom, nom, nom, nom..... I'd like to see pics of the chromium black ones on a car.

yes they are pretty much the gullflame knockoffs. the bottom of the spokes poke out further than the gullflames do, but it does make for a more concave look. the 15 and 16in wheels are disgusting. i have not seen the 17in version, but with the thickness of the spokes on the wheels i would not imagine the 17s would look all that great. but who knows.

Reminds me of the Axis halo's as well. Or were the Halo's clones of those?

These do end up looking quite a bit better than expected. OP did my homework for me. If I do end up with these as my final choice I'll post pics of them on my VR FD. More than likely going with matte black since I usually only own dark wheels, maybe chromuim. Not sure if that will get the desired look with my black/red scheme though.

as far as these wheels being rare, you might have the first ones on an fd but i was at an event with 5 cars on these wheels a couple weeks ago, they are cheap, low offset and have an extreme concave face. they are going to be everywhere. and they really do only look good in 18 inch sizes.
