Bilstein Coilovers (FC TII)

Hey guys,

I recently bought a set of used Bilstein Coilovers for my FC and installed them. They have Eibach springs on them w/ helper springs in the rear, Cusco camber plates up front and upper pillow ball mounts. I lowered the car about an inch and a half all around. I understand that they wouldn't be as stiff now that I lowered it b/c the spring isn't as compressed as it was but is it possible for me to put helper springs up front like the rear have? Is this a popular thing to do?

I think the springs are a little soft as well now that I have lowered it. They aren't dampening adjustable so do you guys have any recommendations as to brands and sites to order springs from other than Eibach? I'm doing some research and will figure out what kind of Eibachs are on there now and see with what I want to go with.

But anywho, here are some pics of them so far. When I first installed them, the car felt very stiff and very responsive. The collars compressed the springs a little while it was up in the air so that would make it seem that it would be stiffer than what it is now that they have moving room when the car is up on jack stands and I can turn them w/ my hand once I break the locking collar loose.

I'm a newbie @ this but want to make it right. Overall they still handle great and they ride good but I want to work out the little kinks.

Can you read the numbers off of the springs and post them? You aren't changing the spring rates by compressing them, just the preload. Can you better describe your problem? Are you sure they are seating correctly? The springs shouldn't "go soft" unless they've been compressed to bind height or otherwise damaged. And don't hate on Eibachs, you cannot beat their available sizes, heights, and rates for the price.
