hey guy looking to get into this conversation and get some help

I have megan coilovers and control arms on my FD. The car is set up to be pretty low and firm since the prior owner did a mile events. The car is very twitchy at high speed and rides rough (duh)

I was planning on readjusting the coilover setup but now Im wondering if I should just replace with another better set. Im not looking to spend bug $$ like aragosta but some fortune 500s or used ohlins could work.

Are the megans really that bad? Will I see much difference with a new setup?

So what are the specs on the Ohlins PCV's. Would they be good for an occasional track day? And are they new or used for 1299?

I have Zeal myself and I hated my Flex. I have the Zeal Super Functions with original swift 16k springs and they're pretty good on the street.

I have Street Flex and they ride just as good as the Tokico/Eibach setup on my daily, just a little stiff on roads with a lot of small bumps.

has anybody driven the fortune auto 510's vs ohlins? thoughts? these are the two im looking at right now not sure where i want to drop my money.

Ohlins are in a different league than fortunes. get the ohlins.

I have the Fortune 510s, and while I like them, I would have spent a few hundred extra for Ohlins if that was an option for me.

Upshot of the Fortunes is that you can get them valved to the rates you want.

What spring rates are on the coilovers? It sounds to me that your spring rates are too high. I had the same issues with my car due to high spring rates regardless of the damper manufacturer.

I can tell you that 12/12 and 11/11 had the car twitchy at high speeds. like the car dances around at speeds over 100mph on rougher roads.

I suggest just swapping the springs to lower rates and try it. I have been successful at doing this, obviously the more expensive dampers are better but I would try the softer spring rates first.

I suggest finding out the spring rate of what you currently have and the spring lengths front and rear. I can help you find some spring rates that will make the car handle better. I dropped my springs down to 8/6KG and I have 2.5" OD, 8" lengths front and rear, I run .5" preload front and .75" preload rear to better center the rebound and droop of the dampers.
