Smile BBS RS-GT 18x9

Hello,

Could someone help me with my problem? I have 93 CMY that has been screaming for a new set of wheels since the day that I purchased it. I don't like the factory wheels as they do not do any justice for this beautiful car. I finally, I think, after two and a half years of owning the car have chosen the wheel for the car I really like the BBS RS-GT Diamond black finish with polished lip. I'm thinking of purchasing from tirerack however they only show 18x8 avialible for an FD. After having a sales person do some futher research he found that they also make this wheel in a 18x9 w/ 5 -114 bolt pattern however they will not gaurantee them to fit properly. According to the tire and wheel sizing chart here on the list they should fit but before I shell out the $4000.00 w/ tires that they are going to cost, I would like to know if any one has used these wheels on a FD? I'm new to the list and would appreciate any help.

You'll need to find out the available offsets for the 18x9 wheel before anyone can help you with fitment.

As stated above, 18x9s will fit with the proper offset. Hell, 18x10s will fit front and back, again with the proper offset and coilovers.

I'm Sorry, I did forget to mention the offset. The BBS RS-GT 18x9's have a 45mm offset. According to the wheel and tire sizing chart they will provide a .27 outside and a .73 clearance on the inside on the fronts. The rear was something like .77 inside and .73 outside or vise versa. Will I need to space out the rear wheel a 1/2" or so ro match the front outside clearance or is 3/4" not that bad? I'm mainly concernd with the front rubbing the fender lip and popping it out I have seen this on a few fd's and it looks pretty nasty.

an 18x9" +45 is about as good as you're going to get without custom modulars. I have 9" +42's.

I'll be perfectly honest though... if you run upsized aftermarket wheels, and/or have lowered the car, you likely need to roll your fenders anyway. Pay to have it done right because it's better than getting it fixed after it pulls the lip and chips the paint. It's just a fact of life.

You should call BBS north america and have therm check brake clearance on that wheel too, if tire rack doesn't have that info.
