BBS RGR vs. RX

What am I missing here? Why are the BBS RGR's so much more expensive (3x the price)?

Im considering both (as they look similar) but the RX's are 1/3 the price!

Any input is MUCH welcomed here.

Thanks!

RGR's are forged and lightweight, and I'm not sure the RX's are. They are both one-piece.

Thanks Peter!

Are they worth the money over the RX's?

I love the look of RGR a lot more. To me, the RX looks pretty 'cheap' or 'fake BBS-like'. My fav BBS are RS-GT & LM.

Thanks!

58R's will be heavier.... My 10" rear weighs 19.5 lbs, and the front 9" weighs 18.5... similar 58R's will be well in the 20's. However, if you want a 10" front, the BBS won't work, and you'll want the 58R's.

The Kenesis will cost more too... but not so much anymore as i've heard RGR prices went up ALOT!...

Thanks guys.

Believe it or not, the pictures don't do them justice, they're better in person. When I first got them and bolted them up, my initial reaction was, "they're nicer than the car". I used to browse wheel sites all of the time looking at different models, drooling over them... not so much anymore, it's like I got married or something. :-)

ptrhahn, according to Tire Rack, the 18x10" RGR will fit our cars in the rear only. Can you confirm this? Have you ever tried to put the rear wheels on the front? I'd really like to know if the clearance issue is with the brakes, suspension, or fenders. If it's as simple as trimming or rolling the fenders, 10" front wheels would be nice.

Thanks,
-s-

I can confirm that the 10" +42 fits on the rear w/ a 275/35/18 Toyo T1-S, with no rubbing. Does NOT need fender rolling, does NOT require trailing arms.

I won't fit on the front though, don't try it. I have a 9" +42 up front w/ 255/35/18.

p.s., I just acquired some forged magnesium track wheels as the perfect compliment to my BBS street wheels. 18x10 +52 w/ 285/30/18 Hoosiers all around :-)

+52 offset. . .

Do you have issues with the big brakes? I thought you ran stoptechs. . . . or am I mistaken?

They're either +50 or +52... supposedly exactly the same offset as the stock wheels, and I can't remember exactly what that is.

No issue with the StopTechs, they miss by a mile... the spoke design allows plenty of clearance.

I love the look of the RG-R, but the price was too high for me so i ended up with the Work Termist TM-1. I actually think they look better than the RG-R now that i have them on the car.
