Azenis RT-615s.. uh huh or nuh uh?
Hey guys, this post primarily concerns any of you who are experienced with Falken tires (mainly RT-615, but any tire suitable for my application will do)... but if you have another good suggestion, lemme know. I'll consider anything but Kumho if it sounds good.
I absolutely love my Azenis RT-215s.. cheap and sticky.. but, like any tire with a treadwear rating of 200, they won't last an eon longer.
I'm really considering going to an RT-615.. I mean, if they're an improved RT-215, I can't imagine how great of a tire they are. Don't give me the "Blah blah, those won't last" lecture. I know this. I'm just gathering information to make an educated decision... I'd prefer to keep the treadwear >=200 so I don't have to buy new tires every 5,000 miles.
Got any ideas?

I have used both the 215s and 615s, but on different cars. I don't know if the treadwear ratings are the same or not, but that would be the best way to estimate relative life, since the tires are from the same manufacturer. The 615s are great. They have great stick like the 215s, but they are also quieter and ride a bit nicer.

It seems that the RT-615 is the most popular 'street' tire when i go autox'ing so it must be good if those people keep getting them. I have only heard good thigns about them and they are really affordable, I cant wait to get a set of my own.

I just switched from Advan A046's (which are an amazing tire) to the RT-615's on my Evo. After initial break-in, I consider them to be just as good on the street as the A046's despite the slightly taller sidewall (45 vs. the stock 40 series). They're relatively quiet and handle wet weather well. I "tropical storm" tested them and they did very well. Not the greatest rain tire in the world but decent. I''ll be slapping some on my 7 as they're now available in the 265/18 size. For the money, there's nothing better out there.

The rt-615's are definitely better than the 215's. The 615's do not have the gummy feeling the 215's have when getting hot.
