Which axxis pads to get?

ok...i have a 90 TII and im doing a good brake job. im getting new rear calipers, maybe new fronts, rebuilding them otherwise, painting all calipers, getting all new rotors, ss brake lines, and new pads. i have decided to get axxis pads after my research. after about 2 hours of researching only axxis pads on here though...im still not sure which axxis pads to get because it is not discussed that much. everybody talks only about metal masters being good and all. some people are mentioning TRYING the ultimates but they never repost with results. it will be mostly street to heavy street driving for me. i am looking for long pad life, rotor life, good heat range, low noise, and low dust. one thing that is stumping me is how do ceramic pads (which what the ultimates are i guess) perform and all. if someone can post results or just good information that will help me decide which pads to get it would be great, not to mention some info on ceramic pads. also...if u have info could u recommend some good sites where i can get the pads. thanks

I've run Metal Masters and they are absolutely quiet with little dust. They are the perfect street pad IMO because I personally have never seen anything that dusts less than they do while still giving decent performance. If I strictly drove on the street I would be absolutely and completely satisfied with them, especially for the price.

That said competition type pads have really spoiled me and R compound tires insist I use them. These pad types are dirtier and can make noise at times but man the brakes feel so much nicer. You pick your poison and live with it.

I couldn't agree more, I am running the same pads and I've found their performance to be excellent for street use. Even during hard breaking after repeated highway pulls, I don't recall any fade.

My StopTechs came with Axxis Ultimate pads, which is what I use for the street. Very reasonable on the street, great stopping power. Dusting is about what I see with most street pads, and they are quiet. Never used Metal Masters, so can't compare.

FWIW - I have been runnig these for a while now on my daily driver. Agree, way less dust than even the stock pads. I autox the car and I let a better driver (his third gen is not running) co-drive the car so I could learn something. His first reaction to the car was that the brakes sucked. On his second run (third run for the car) he said the brakes worked OK and that they just needed to come up to temp. For comparison he runs Hawk HP-Plus on his car.
