Anyone Running 17x10 +38 on a TRACK car?
Anyone using wheels of this spec? How's the fitment/rubbing (with real size tires)? I was thinking of trying them with the new 275/35/17 Hoosiers.
I'm really only concerned with the front. I already run a 5mm spacer on my 18x10 +50's, so I'm thinking another 7mm won't hurt anything.

How much camber do you run? With those particular tires / wheels I don't THINK you will fit in the front, but not by much... how much rubbing are you OK with?
On a 295/35/17 hoosier with 2.7 degrees camber on a 17x10 +52 wheel I have about 10mm to the fender lip and lightly rub the fender liner at the back of the wheel arch at the outside edge (where the liners screw into the fender) when I have the right amount of lock on the wheels.
The 275/35 by tire racks measurements on a 9.5" wheel 13mm narrower than the 295 on a 10. my rim sits 14mm more inbound, the 275 tire is 13mm narrower making 6.5mm per side, subtract from 14 leaves 7.5mm, the 275 on a 17x10 +38 would sit 7.5mm more outbound than my setup assuming that the measurements on tire rack are accurate (likely they aren't) and that the 275 doesn't grow going from a 9.5 to a 10" rim (which it will). With these assumptions in place, on my car with my camber that would leave 2.5mm to the top fender lip. the smaller diameter will play in your favour, but I can tell you that tire rack lists the 295/35 as 25.3" tall and mine measured as 25.125" mounted and inflated, so there may be less height advantage than it looks.
Hope that is clear and helps. If you need I can take accurate measurements of my tires mounted and inflated, but it wont be possible to get installed on car measurements until spring.

I've got a fender roll, and will run probably 1.4 to 1.8 degrees of camber. I currently run 18x10 +50's with 285/30/18 Hoosiers. I Guess I could put both of my 5mm spacers on it to see how it looks, should be a similar size tire/wheel.
The whole point is to be able to run lower with the 275/35 than you used to be able to with the 275/40's (ran those too), so if the offset messes that up, it's not really worth it. Wish they made a +45

I know this isn't a suspension setup thread but on hoosiers and a track I bet you would be happier with more camber. On open road course and 710's my car and tire temps were very happy with about 2.2-2.3 negative up front, but if your driving lots on the street then that could be a bit much...
