Anyone have these wheel brands?
I am close to deciding on the wheels I would like to purchase for my FD. I am inbetween the brands MB Designs, Konig, and Nakayama. I havent heard to many good things about konig but the cheap prices are hard to resist. The prices on the other two arent to much more money either. So I was curious if anyone had these brands and what their expirence was with them. I will not be using them for AutoX just for daily driving n occasional racing. Thanks

Quality wheel brands: 5zigen, SSR, Volk, CCW, Racing Hart, Fikse, Kinesis, Forgeline, etc
Bottom-line, if you see the wheel brand on a Civic at the mall, odds are that it's not a brand you want to put on your FD.

But generally speaking, yeah most stuff at that site isn't very good quality.
Edit - wow I don't remember seeing these on the site before:

Thats alot of $$ per wheel

If you're not going to get real rims don't bother wasting your money. Knockoff rims on a nice car kill the effect.
I laugh at people when they try to compare their konig's or whatever against my rims.

The best bargain in wheels is getting used FD ones from the classified forum.

For those looking at budget rims, look for good quality used wheels. If I wouldn't have found the Enkei's so cheap, I would have purchased a set of SSR Competitions, which are the best performance/dollar wheel I have found. When I burn through the T1-S tires, I might sell the Enkei's and pick up the SSR Comps anyway.

People think that just because SCC or whatever has ads for KONIG they are good rims.
Honest to god, I've had people with American Eagle rims ask me if my Advan's are a knock-off brand of rims.

I may have to counter on the Racing Hart's being high quality. I have 3 peice c2's and the lips on these things are like play dough....I had an accident on left front quarter and found damage on the right front wheel. I love my wheels so much but now that they're out of production, replacement if they can't be fixed is a bitch. I just bought a full set only to replace 2 wheels. 1300 with tires in 18x8 +42

I really don't see the problem with Konig wheels. Sure, a couple in their line are knockoffs, but they have just as many designs that have been knocked off. Personally, I wouldn't put them on my FD, but i do have a set on my civic and i'm totally happy with them. It just depends what you want to do with your wheels, and ultimately it boils down to what the owner would like on the car (still wouldn't put these wheels on my rx7, but that's just me). But you also have to realize that knocking off other designs isn't just for the "low end" wheel manufacturers. Just look at the Blitz Technospeed Z1's and the Volk GT-N's. Both are high end wheels that look damn near identical.
Purestrx7, the bottom line is do some research and decide for yourself what you want. The general rule of thumb is that forged wheels are better than cast, try not to get a copied wheel, and chrome is out of style for sportscars right now.
*steps off of soapbox, gets into civic, and drives away...

your best bet for saving a few bucks and getting some wheels is getting some 99 spec rims of www.jt-imports.com. they are 17x8 and 17x8.5 I believe.

Its not that I dont have enough money, i got 2k for rims, i just like the designs of them I really liked the ro_ja formula 7 rims and havent heard anything on quality wise, they are 450 or so per wheel in 18's. I was orginally looking for rims that look like stock r34 gtr wheels, but no one could come up with anything similar
