88 FC suspension what to buy?

I have a 88 FC and I'm looking to completely over haul everything and I don't know with what brand and kind to go with, I'm doing my FC up for track and I want a good set up for a reasonable price, I also want to lower it so my wheels are flush with the fenders and I don't know much on suspension set ups, so any info would help let me know you imput please and thanks -Mike.

It depends a great deal on what you want. You can use the forum search tool to find old suggestions or soon this thread will probably have 5 different setups for you to choose from with different budgets and comfort levels. You're looking at shocks, springs (or coilovers), sway bars, possibly sway bar end links, bushings (OEM for soft & expensive for a DD, polyurethane for cheap & hard for a track car), tower braces (front and maybe rear). If you're going to lower your car that much you'll need to add some kind of camber adjustment device in the rear like camber plates or an adjustable link. Make sure the shocks and springs work well together; for example don't get stiff shock suggested by person A and soft spring suggested by person B or you'll have trouble. If you're not going all out racer and want to see how comfortable a setup feels then try to bum a ride in someone's car that already has it. Do a forum search on DTSS and see if yours is broken. If it is then get DTSS eliminator bushings. Others don't like the fuzzy feedback DTSS gives. Or they already adjust their toe for track only use (ignoring the excessive tire wear it causes), so DTSS isn't as helpful. So if it's a pure track car you might want to eliminate DTSS even if it's good... though if you do have perfectly functional DTSS a handful us would appreciate it if you swapped in some hubs from the junkyard, eliminated the DTSS on those and sold us your old hubs .

Haha thanks for all the info man!!! I don't know anyone who has a car done up for track lol and I'll still be driving it on the streets a little bit. But yeah I want coilovers I was thinking on Tein but there 1500$! Lol and Im going to get new sway bars and strut bars but i don't know if "brand name" makes a differant with that cuz I can make some my self ( I use to work at a metal fab shop that I have full acsess too ) and I don't know anything about bushings to be honest, I don't mind a stiff ride I'm use to drivng big trucks on very bad roads so it doesn't bother me :P
