275/40x17 Square on 17x9.5
I would like some help on choosing wheels for best fit onto stock-body FD with pulled/rolled fenders.
I want to run square 275/40x17's, on 17x9.5 ET38 perhaps such as Enkei RPF1s?
What wheel size and offset would you suggest for all around best chassis performance?
I am particularly concerned with offset and moving away from the OEM ~40mm positive, as it will affect steering feel/steering-axis-from-contact patch center.
Equally I think that higher offset such as 50mm such as an S2000 fitment, may cause steering feel degradation and reactions, and also maybe rub the tire onto the coilovers.
FD is LSxV8 with 500whp, thus the need for most tire under stock fenders.
275's 17's are cheap relative to other options.
Thanks

The 275/40-17 will work in the back but that is just too tall for the front. The 255/40-17's are the extreme limit for height in the front. They are 25.03" I get rubbing at near full lock on the front fender liner with the above 255/40-17 Kuhmo XS's. This is on a 17x8 wheel with a +38 offset.

Thank you for the tip.
So the height is the issue.
What about 275/30x18? Do you think that width of these can work, but lower rolling diameter solves the height issue?
If so, what offset should I be looking for?
Thanks again

I suggest for the RPF1's:
Staggered
18" I like these sizes and offsets better.
18X9.5 +45 245/35-18
18X10 +38 295/30-18. A 315/30-18 will fit with an offset around +45, rolled fenders and aftermarket trailing arms.
17"
17X9 245/40-17
17x10 275/40-17 The Kuhmo Ecsta XS come in this size Pretty sticky tire and cheap. Just a little heavy.
Square
18"
18X9.5 +45 285/30-18
17"
17X9+45 255/40-17 Not ideal for the power
I too have a LS swap with around 435rwhp and 4.1 gears. The 255/40-17 Kuhmo XS's can ALMOST handle the power. Roll on power not clutch on power. A 295 or 315 should be just fine.
Unfortunately when you have a car with the power you do and you want to maintain the stock driving habits of the car up front you really have to run a staggered setup or some SUPER sticky tires in the back.
I REALLY with I had gone with below on the CCW's:
18"
18X9 +45 245/35-18
18X10.5 +45 315/30-18. Rolled fenders needed
