It's the wheel offset that matters, and your rear tire profile is way too tall (285/30). I hope you like understeer.

I concur. Run the sizes that berg has suggested. Keep your gearing correct. Make sure your front and rear tires and nearer in diameter as well.

It will not work, IMHO, regardless of offset unless you modify your fenders a good amount.

What is 285/30 equivalent to in side wall height? Example: 225/50 to 285/30 = 2 inches of side wall?

You're actually wanting to look at the tire's overall diameter. The 285/30/18 is the closest to the stock FD tire O.D. To calculate how big the sidewall is you would need to look at the overall diameter subtract the wheel diameter and then divide that figure by 2. This will give you an approximation of the sidewall height.

You could run a 295/30 rear if you want, but i'd want a 10.5" rim for that.... on a 10" wheel, i'd run a 275/35/18 though.

Opinion on what? You haven't given us enough information. Wheel offset is important and is critical with the 295/30 size.

Yes, a 235/40 and 295/30 will fit, assuming the correct wheel offsets and widths.

Ok..... Got the rims in front of me!

Front 18X8 D+38 offset
Rear 18X10 F+45 offset (O)

I want to go super wide tires in the rear..... 305?

I run a 285/30/18 in front now with only fender rolling. My rear is 315/35/17 in back but I have the pettit flares.

Those rims will work with 235/40 and 285/30. You may have problems catching the fender lip with the typical lowering springs. You should not run wider than a 285 on a 18x10 wheel. Your car will already plow like a pig with that setup anyway.

To run 285 up front requires precise offset selection and aftermarket coilovers (or aftermarket fenders). If you have the Pettit flares, you may as well have gone with the big boys....(335/30 18).

I used to run the 335's in back however my combo now is just right. 335's in back gave me to much grip in back and hurt the turns, great for straights though.

rynberg would you say that this is the correct offset for the FD?.....

Or What offset would have been better for wider tires, using the 18X8 and the 18X10 widths?
