225/50/R16 On S5 Turbo II Rims?

Going to buy some S5 Turbo II Rims pretty soon.
Right now i have 205's on my stock 1990 GXL rims. I wanted to put 225's on them but was told the rim was to small.

Can i put 225's on a S5 Turbo II rim without any trouble?
I know i can put 225's on my stock GXL rims but was told the wall would be sloppy and roll over on tight corning much easier.
If i was to put 225's on the S5 Turbo II rims would it be safe to say that they wouldn't exsperience this "roll over"?

Also would 225/50/R16 keep the same ratio as 205/60/R15?

Thanks

Cool Yes you can

I have 225/50 yokos on my s5 turbo no problems. To answer your queston about the side walls of the tire rolling in hard cornering , I don't have a problem with it.
Just get some good tires.

I am debating between some Falken Ziex ZE-512 Tires
or Falken GRB FK-451 Tires....

Anyone have any advice on them?
If not can someone point out a good tire i could use?

Thanks

As far as tires I would strongly recomend the Kumho MX tire, great performance, excellent price. 225-50-16 are a fine fit on a 7" rim. Good luck, Carl

225s? I used to have 255 50 16 in the rear and 225 50 16 in the front of my 88 GTU. Rubbed a little because of my shot suspension.

225/50/16 TOYO T1Rs on mine front and rear. If you meant 225/50/16 to 205/60/16 it's close enough not to worry about.

I have 225/50/16 Dunlop SP Sport 8000 on stock T2 wheels. The front passenger side tire rubbed the spring a bit but a wheel alignment fixed that.

the FK-451 is a slightly better tire for dry traction ZE-512 has much better traction wet and close to as good dry.
FK-451 has been discontinued by falken so it may be difficult to find a replacement tire if needed.
I have ran both and have the ZE-512 on my 2002 TransAm and just ordered a new set of ZE-512's for my RX7 today
