225 or 205 for a stock series 5 TII?

Just wanted to know what would be a better option to go with?

a 225/50/16 for a stock TII rim

or

a 205/55/16 for stock TII rim...

would my tire bulge too much if i were to go with the 225?

Thanks a lot.

No it will not rub, and I would go with the 225's rather than 205. The edge of the tread will be a little wider than the tire, and therefore the sidewall will not be quite as stiff on the same brand tires as with 205's, but the added traction you'll get with 225's is worth it.

I run 225 in front and 245 out back for my street setup with Dunlop SP8000's, and my race setup is 225 all around in Khumo V700

T2's are 16x7. Just stick with the 205's on there. Maybe 215's, but that's it. Get wider wheels to take full advantage of the wider treads. Otherwise you'll just have balloons. 225/50R16 is very close to 205/55R16 in diameter. Chech the manufacturer specs to be certain of their actual width as they vary from model to model.

my friend has the 225/50r16's on his 89 TII and they look awesome, give superior traction and keep the speedo in check i got 205's on my TII and they suck! i realized this when i was breaking traction in all 4 gears going down 1/4 with a extremely tired engine

ps a fellow member of this forum approached me after that run and told me to get some tires on that thing!!!! i said they are brand new bridgestones!!!!!!
