17X7 konig caffeines.. Nice or Rice??

Looking at getting some 17X7 konig caffeines used off a local car forum. He wants $750 CAN without center caps.
They also come with 225/R17/ZR45 Nitto nt450's with 80% tread left.
Think i should pick these up or hold untill something else pops up? I think they look alright but not sure if they fall in the "ricy" department or not.

Thanks

Hmmm, not exactly my taste. Also depends on what kind of car you have. I would never put em on an FD just for the fact that they're even thinner than stock wheels. I don't know the stock size on an fb or fc. If it were me I'd wait.

not all konig wheels are ugly. 7" wheels are kinda skinny for me, though. And I don't like those particular wheels at all.

You should go with a wider wheel.

Ya I guess the Konig Imagines on my 408rwhp AE are ricey then? But those wheels are really ugly.

Konig makes some really nice looking wheels, but they are mostly knock-offs of other brands. For example, I believe the imagines are a knock-off of the enkei aegis. If you compare the rims side by side, you can really see the quality difference. I personally dont care all that much, considering konigs are usually 1/3 the price, but in all fairness thay arent the greatest wheels. Usually a bit heavier as well.

I'm gonna just paste what I wrote in another thread nearby.

I'm only recommending lightweight inexpensive wheel options for you:

Cheap staggered wheel would be the 5Zigen FN01RC, prob around $800.00 shipped w/o hardware and club discounts.

You can get Team Dynamics Pro Race 1 in 17x8 +35,
$800.00 shipped.

ADR Kasai is available in 17x8 +35, I have a buddy who was doing a special on them in April for $600.00 shipped.

Those are all the good width and offset options that aren't too heavy for wheels.

Peace.

PM me if you need more info. I'll see what else i can think of.

On the 7.5" width, I wouldn't recommend a 235/40/17. You should stick with a 225/45/17. But if you do the 8" width you'll be set and run the 235/40/17.

17's? What are you thinking? For your GXL, you need at least 20 inch spinners...come back when you know what your talking about : )
