16x9 or 16x10?

Anyone know where i can get a decent looking set of 16's about 9-10 inches wide? Im not sure of anyone that makes that besides like truck wheels and the like. I just want to keep my stock wheel size but i wider wheel. I thought about the rega maters but i believe the only go up to 8" wide in 16's...and they are like 600 bucks each for that. Thanks

First, I assume you are talking about an FD?

Rishie can chime in but I believe there is an issue with wider 16" wheels clearing the suspension pieces. With larger diameter wheels, the lip of rim is farther away so there aren't as many issues.

Even more importantly, what size of tires are you looking to run? There are NO wide tires in a low profile in the 16" size. So, there really is no point in going to wider 16" rims anyway.

yes it's an fd. Um i was guessing around a 255 or 265 or so with the 9 inch wide...and for the 10 maybe a 285. Well I didnt know that there werent wide tire sizes in a low profile 16. I dont know a crap load about tires and all. But thanks for the info man. Maybe ill just get some 17's like the Volk ce28n's or somethin like that.

Yep, no one makes "street" performance tires in those types of sizes. They don't even go very wide in the 17" size, which is a real bummer. Some of us would love to put 285/35s on 17x10 wheels but no one makes that tire size.....

I'm starting to look more at the CE28N's too. That's Volk's best choice for FD offsets -- 17x9 with +47 offset or 17x10 with +45 offset. We'll just have to wait until Artowar posts his pics....
