16x8 to 17x8?
Konig DTD Ziege 16x8 with I think a +35 offset and Kumho Ecsta ASX 205/40R16 rubber are what I have on my FB right now, you can see the clearance from the pictures above.
Now I'm really thinking about getting me some of these:
5Zigen FN01RC 17x8 with +35 offset and either BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW NT or Falken Azenis RT-615 rubber. Either would be 205/40R17. I'm going for these wheels because not only do I like the way they look, but they're some of the lightest 17" wheels I could find.
Onto the actual questions:
1. Are these going to fit? Seeing as I have a pretty good clearance now, and i'm only going +1, I think they would, but anyone who's actually put 17x8s on a FB would be able to tell me more
2. Aesthetically, what do you all think about the black w/ red stripe wheels against the gunmetal grey exterior? (i'm in the process of converting the interior from that washed out bluish-grey to black.)

first off, beautiful looking car. Which body kit is that?
second, I dont see a problem with that wheel option. If your 16x8s fit, 17x8s with the same offset should not be a problem. The only problem I could foresee is your tire rubbing on the inside wheel well (like the engine side) near full lock. This is not a big deal, and can be adjusted out with the steering stop, you will just increase your turning radius.
Search google for wheel measurement tips, and measure a bunch if your worried. But IMO, I dont think it will be a problem.

As far as asthetics go, I'd imagine putting 17's on an fb is like putting 18's on an fc....it can be done, but it only looks good witht the right combination of drop and aero.
Your car looks great, so you could prolly pull off 17's, but I don't think that particular wheel is gonna be the best look.
btw 205's are a waste of an 8in wide wheel, just get some 17x7's or 6.5 even they'll be cheaper and lighter (most likely)
