Engines
We offer full rebuilds for any one of your performance needs, we are not the cheapest but I am a firm believer of a higher quality motor, I will not put my name on anything that is not going to be built right. This means all motors we do come with new rotor housings, all new seals, all new springs, plates are lapped, high temp coolant seals, rotors and e-shaft are inspected bearings are inspected. Oil pump inspected/replaced, oil pump chain replaced, OPR inspected, stationary gears inspected, etc. This is the cheapest way I will go about it. I WILL NOT RE-USE ROTOR HOUSINGS OR SEALS. If others want to that is their prerogative. I do this for two reasons. 1)you 2)me. Here's a good example. If I build you a motor with used parts that you asked for and the motor doesn't do as well as hoped. Who is at fault? I know who will get blamed. Me! Despite the fact I had my hands tied with used parts, that you would have insisted upon, for the sake of money saved. This does nothing but make more work for me, while having you a upset customer waiting for un-needed problems to be solved. I would rather lose you as a sale, than have you blame me for putting together a shoddy motor.
It's not expensive to put together a engine that runs, It isn't cheap to put a solid engine together that will last. Beware of cheap pricing, there is no special deals on motor parts. The only one who can build you a cheap motor with all new parts is mazda if they choose to. So if the price sounds too good to be true ask yourself one thing. Do you think they are taking a hit on the labor or the parts? I will stand behind any motor I build, BUT ONLY IF WE DO THE INSTALL/TUNE. This again is for the same two reasons. 1)you 2)me. Here is why in the simplest explanation possible. If I do the build and I do the tune. There is no question who's at fault should a problem ever occur. So you as a customer wont have to deal with all the finger pointing crap that goes on with X builder and Y tuner. Meanwhile your stuck in the middle with no car to enjoy. And yes, that happens all the time. We are not a internet store selling mail order motors, there are a few of those, we are not one of them. Be cautious some sell motors that they themselves dont even build. We are a full service shop and do all the work in house. All motors are assembled in a clean room where quality control is kept. It is important you spend time shopping around. Not for best price, but to get a good feeling of who you may feel comfortable with about there abilities and knowledge. Price is a factor, but how much is saved after running into a problem and the builder starts giving excuses and playing the blame game. This is why you should try and have the same shop who builds your motor tune your motor. After all who knows the motor and it's abilities better. If for some reason you feel we are too far for you, or it is simply too hard to get your stuff to us. Just ask I will gladly recommend other builders I feel comfortable with trusting such a big purchase with. It is a good amount of money and spent wisely it should not have to be spent again for a long time.

Hey Sean, I just put a deposit down for a turbo to be built by your shop. I was in there yesterday actually. I'm just curious to know how much you guys charge for a street ported motor? I expect to do this modification some time in the future so I'm just wondering. Let me know. Thanks.

I actually have 5 20b's sitting here right now most are just getting standard streetports and single setups. One is going in a older ferrari and one is being put in a full chassis drag car. Cost will depend on setup. Shoot a email to sean@a-spec.com and let me know what your trying to accomplish.
