Speed shops in and around Austin?

I know there's one in I want to say Bastrop, and I can't imagine that there aren't any in Austin. I have an extra $300.00 in my paycheck and I want to help our local economy.

The ones I can think of off the top of my head are:

Performance Motorsports / BoostLogic (great guys and great work, but they don't do RX7's)
MZM Performance (never really dealt with them)
Protech Performance (never really dealt with them)

There are a few other guys that do RX7 work, but I can't think of them. Do a search in the south forum and you'll probably find a few more.

You can find out all you need about MZM and Protech's business practices by searching. Not a lot of favorable responses. I've got some pretty funny stories about dealing with them, but I don't need to post them on the internet.

At any rate, I've got a shop out in Del Valle but I'm pretty snowed under. www.taylorrotorsports.com/

Have a friend or 2 that like protech, but have heard mzm is the best with rotory. I have delt with protech ,but took them 2 weeks to find a eshaft pulley, I also called mzm about building my engine and they never called back. Protech wanted $3500 to rebuild my engine to start. said they would only use new housing that they get????

On a similar note, how about good bodyshops in and around Austin? At some point I'll be looking for some body work and a full repaint. Any thoughts?

A friend of mine has been raving about Heritage Body on Pond Springs road. They fixed up her can and even washed it.

performance shops -
protech (?, jury is out, but I just hear so much negative crap I wouldn't go there)
MZM (same deal, place gets raided by police from time to time(?), seems kinda' sketchy)
BoostLogic (Supra badasses who don't really toy with rotaries)
StreetRays (new shop in pflugerville, haven't been there, but no bad reports or shady **** so looks to be one of the only places whorth a flip here)
Sideways Autosalon (same as streetrays, don't know what all they carry or what they do though)
EDO performance (might not even be in business anymore, good rep as well)

body shops-
Rebreu know a tech there, they do good work, talk to Gene and tell him Randall sent ya'
Beasley Collision they do good work, but I'm not a fan of their business practices or how they "forget" to charge me stuff, then call 5 months later asking for money that I no longer have budgeted etc. Dusty is the guy to talk to there though, he'll hook you up either way.

There is another shop in town called Burley or Burly (something along those lines) or something I always hear about, they're supposed to be top notch but I've never dealt with them. Sideways also does paint/body, there's also Gomez paint/body in Del Valle who might be pretty decent just from what i hear etc.

hope that helps
