My original tranny had 105,700 miles on it. All synchros were good and there was only a mild whirring as the input shaft bearing was getting loose.
It was replaced with Kyles which was originally rebuilt by some unknown company for Kyle along with a JDM .806 5th which came from Pettit. It has less than 2000 miles on it. But they did not do the 5th install properly as it would pop out of gear periodically. When Kyle went LS1 in 2006, I bought the tranny and had it checked out along with fixing 5th and installing the newer-heavier 5th selector spring. My rebuild was done by http://host.trustab.org/caforeigntrans.
6 years later with only 20,000 miles on it, the input shaft became very noisy, and it then broke a third gear tooth off.
Makes me wonder if http://host.trustab.org/caforeigntrans did not do a good job or was it caused by 6 years of around 400 whp.
Thus I am taking it to a specialist I know: http://www.lucasracinginc.com/
