I'm not a builder nor do I claim to be. I built my last motor. Alan and his brother helped and a couple other buddies. It was stock intake port, and it made 353hp at 13psi with a bnr stage 4. It ran 12.1 @ 116 with 18" rims and Falken FK452's. Purposely slipped the clutch out of the hole and barely managed a 1.9 60'. It didnt last very long, less than 2k miles. We never care to diagnose exactly what what wrong, but I know it ran lean under boost. We pulled the motor and switched platforms to a 13B-RE and GT4202...and thats been sitting on the back burner for way too long now.
Now Phil, if your questions are a comparison test your trying to do between me and Chuck, then your wrong from the beginning. I dont claim to be a builder much less "THE" builder, as Chuck has imprudently dubbed himself to be, especially with his new signature, which is funny, but childish for someone trying to start a business. The honest thing for him to have done was say that he overexaggerated in his hp claims. But he didnt. He beat around the bush and has avoided answering to his claims. Every post I post makes me look worse but I have nothing to lose. And every post Chuck makes continueing to dodge bullets and ignore the facts makes him look worse too.
Now as for comparing Chuck to other reputable builders in Texas, well, the proof is in the pudding...or lack of pudding in Chucks case.

See Dom, I think just about everyone realizes that chuck hasn't even gotten around to photoshoping dyno graphs to back up his impressive HP claims, but they don't really care. So why don't they care? First of all a dyno graph is not everything to everyone. I'd say that a good price and good reliability are more important to most people anyway. Secondly, Chuck's good character, reputation, and helpful personality are also more important to most people than unsubstantiated HP claims.
I'm sure we'll see a 500+hp dyno sheet eventually, until then you'll just have to be skeptical or take his word for it.

I'm also sure we will eventually see a 500+hp dyno...until then its unproven.

One thing I would like to say is this, I build engines, so when you say I want a 500+ hp engine I will build one that will hold up to that.
What you put on the motor makes the hp, with different types of porting it will make it easier or harder to make it.
Then you have tuning that will play a HUGE roll in making the hp, with a jacked up tune you may only be making 50% of the power that your setup will produce.
I am not the best tuner, I take along time and double check everything, I always direct people to Chuck Westbrook if they have a PFC
You can ask anyone that I have done work for what is one of the first questions I ask them, "What do you want the car to do?" Then I can tell them what is my suggestion to how to make it.

I am the south texas rotary builder, I am working on building a shop but as of now i am still working from my house.
I have built alot of engines from stock to the 500+hp range so you dont have to worry about the quality of my rebuilds.
A test of the true reliability of my motors has been are 2 lemons race cars, these engines get abused for 16+ hours per race and haven't ever failed.
I will build the motor to your liking, tell you what parts can and can not be reused.

93 FD wayer seal hon front housing pulling motor now would like the motor looked at while I have it out. Low milage car 65k

I’m not sure who all is left in the Houston building scene. As for actual builders, Maple Racing would be a good one to get in touch with. I think Dom is still around and building engines at Area 55. You have Dino at Playback (where my car is currently at) but he will tell you he prefers not to build engines, though he can do them if you want him to. Dino’s done great work for me so far and I’m about to get him a bunch of other things to do (vmount, a/c work, some other things on it). Chuck Westbrook is still around and can help with light troubleshooting and PFC tuning. I know there’s rrr tuning where Nelson and Alex Rodriguez were tuning, but I’ve heard they put their dyno in storage? Not sure on that, worth calling them if you need to. I’ll let others chime in on if there are any other options for builders or mechanics.

I'm up in montgomery, rebuilding my rx7 right now. If you can't find anyone you can always have the short block shipped from Atkins rotary. Went pretty well for me and the disassembly/reassembly isn't so bad especially if you have a FSM
