I have the black FD!!!! I now know a few of you, to those that like the car, thank you. For those that feel I ride around with stolen parts hummmmm I buy ALL my **** brand new, not down for handmedowns.... How many people in the import world ride around telling every single thing they have done to their whip? There are people with "top secret turbos"etc. My **** is bone stock (for now). For everyone else that has the love for these cars without the bullshit holla at me. Oh yea for the record I'm Black! just like the ride. with nothing stolen except for my ancestors.

Wraith, if you look through the South Section, you will find a thread about "Rotary Looting in NO." Nobody meant to accuse you of anything, even if it may have sounded that way.
You have to understand, though, that quite a few people lost a lot of money from their **** being stolen, and when someone says, "i'm not going into details because if he wonts people to know he tell you,but i will say its going to be really quick, look really good, really soon!" you have to understand that eyebrows will be raised.
We aren't going to hold a grudge or think that you did it, you are welcome to kick it with us anytime we get together. We don't have any doubt that you have stolen anything now that you have cleared things up.
On another note: MY CAR SHOULD BE RUNNING TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wraith,
No offense is meant but several folks lost thousands of dollars worth of parts from someone who had been around DCP Motorsports. We're talking $20-30K total worth of parts from someone who had been around that shop and knew what to grab and what was junk before the flood. Then with Lenoard's car kept coming back for more. If you think being black has something to do with it, Darrell who owns DCP Motorsports happens to be a black man who was ripped off and befriended also. Prime suspect is white.
My initial thought was perhaps a new FD owner may have bought some used parts and the price was so good they know not to show it off. None of our suspects have a black FD unless it was recently aquired and the FD community is not very big in NOLA.
Most of us are car crazy here and have no problem raising the hood to show off this amazing little engine. We try to share our experiences, you learn a lot more sometimes from people with experience than internet tuners. Only people I know that want to hide their mods are competing in sanctioned racing at a competitive level or trying to huslte street races for money (not much of either happening in NOLA). I look at it as you win some and you lose some (you'll get used to winning more in the FD - it's addicting), they'll always be someone spending more money and being faster.
Besides its fun to beat up on a big bad V8s or some trendy 4-cylinder turbo then show them the stock turbos and let them know you're running only 11 or 12 psi on a street ported motor with all the bolt-ons when they are often running 100+ nitrous shots or 20 psi boost (you alwasy get the how much boost you running - expecting super high boost with race gas, the look on their face is priceless when you say 1 or 2 psi more boost than stock).
If you cruise the interstate or lake front late at night on the weekends, I'll be the montego blue FD with large wheels and stock looking exhaust. I'm glad to talk cars anytime (never owned a piston engine car in 23 years of driving so I'm kinda biased).
So we hear you have special plans for the car. I'd ask but I'm sure it must be top secret!!
Jack

Here's the link to the rotary looting thread, the thread has most of the stuff stolen but other small parts were jacked. No insurance was paid, total loss.

Ahhhhh......can't beat the FISKES man. Gotta love em. Mark White and Jack C. def. representing FISKE well.
Now, back to what Jack was saying. Jack or myself were not accusing anyone here of stealing anything. The rotary community in this area is VERY tight and pretty much every Rotorhead in this region knows eachother. This is what this club was founded on. People getting together to hang out, learn as much as we can about these unique machines (or JUNIQUE like my boy Montoya would say) from eachother, share resources, admire eachother's rides, and maybe even getting laid if the right groupy chicks are on hand YEAH....back to reality.
Our club is a very informal club where no dues are collected, there are no requirements for membership, etc.... We just get together and when we see other Fellow rotorheads, we reach out to them and welcome them to join us. We have accumulated the Top rotary mechanics in LA, rotary gurus with vast knowledge of these unique machines, and a stockpile of resources to share with others. Over the years, we have met so many and continue to meet many new and interesting people that have plenty to offer.
So, now we have some thieves among our very small rotary community that has been together for 6 years now and I don't think it was wrong at all to ask about new FD owners with tons of bolt-ons. We were just asking and not accusing. New Rx7 owners to the community who ride around town without acknowleding other fellow rotorheads and being somewhat elusive to others will no doubt raise a red flag at this time. People are **** out of tons of $$$ that was not covered under insurance at DCP Motorsports. So, you G'Damn right we have the right to question the newbies and those who are suspicious.
My boy Darrel Pierre, who may have been slow as the ******* day is long was indeed an asset to us whether you agree or not. He was Always looking to help, and was the BEST hands down on working with the FD and other rotaries in "stock" form. So, when he gets fucked, and our members get fucked, we gonna continue to ask about new owners in the area just because we are looking out.
That being said, all rotary enthusiast interested in being part of a great group of guys are MORE THAN WELCOMED and we look forward to meeting you all. We are still going strong after being around for 6 years now as evident of our recent meet.
NOW, can we get our Damn video hosted already. LOL..............jk. Another get together soon guys. One of our longtime members who moved out of state is supposed to be driving through town and we plan on getting some peeps together. I'll shoot up a date as soon as he lets me know when he'll be arriving (Charlie).

Yo wraith, no accusations were intended. Sorry if we got off to a bad start. As Jack mentioned, it was just enough to raise the eyebrows. Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know what my parts look like so that if you didn't see the previous thread, you now know. Hope that you make it out for the next meet. Rotor on...

TED, you have made me so happy with the talks of an upcoming meet! I've been working on my car since 8am today, and I probably have a couple/few more hours to go. As of right now, though, all systems are go on my car running!

Shawn, hell yeah get that car of yours running so you can represent the 1st Gens. for us. I replied to an email that Charlie sent. Just waiting for a date on when he's coming down.

It lives! Albeit barely, though it does start on the first kick of the starter and it idles fine! The timing is so out of whack that as soon as you touch the gas, the car falls on its face and back fires. After the timing is set, it's time to see what kind of attention my carb needs.
I had to disable my dual Facet fuel pumps, which are normally used for daily driving because the lines are rotted out. So, for now, it's the Holley Red sending fuel to my baby.
Right now I'm using my old exhaust (RB 2 into 1 header, RB presilencer, and stock from there out), but within the next couple of weeks, I'm getting my custom exhaust fitted up. I've owned enough 7s now that I have accumulated a road race header (dual outlet), 2 presilencers, and an RB Power Pulse muffler. I'm going to have a shop piece it all together for me.
But for now, it's time to tune....

Black R1 spotted in Austin
I usually wouldn't post this but I haven't seen a 3rd on the roadways for months now.
I was driving home around 4:45 on airport right in front of the highland mall, and there I saw it. Looked to be a clean black r1 had some after market wheels and exhaust sounded nice as well. I tried to flag you down in my daily beat box civic but I guess ya didnt notice me.
Anyways if youre reading this nice car! I would have loved to see a working proper 3rd gen for a change. I'm sick of looking at my project
