Need a mechanic in norman
Hey does anyone know of a good honest mechanic in norman? I need to have either my clutch or hydralics replaced but I don't know anyone in norman I can trust to tell me the one that's the problem. I need the guy soonish, so the guy mentioned in the other thread about september won't work. I need to move back to tulsa in a few weeks and need my car running properly by then.
The closest mechanic I know I can trust is 130 miles away(In tulsa) and I don't trust my car to get there, or want to spend that much money on gas because it's currently chugging twice as much as normal.

Man i wish i could help yea out but im in Austin til May of next year working. What kinda of problem you havin with your clutch? If its slippin more than likely its the clutch if your clutch peal is going all the way to the floor and not coming up its either the slave cylinder or the clutch master cylinder.

I'm not exactly sure what the problem is.
I am getting high rpm/low speed, excessive gas usage and sometimes I have to push the clutch a couple times before it will let me put it into gear, usually second and reverse.
I was thinking the cylinders because when I bleed it, it helps for a little while. But I have no experience with fixing these things so I don't know how to determine what the problem is, which is why I need an honest mechanic to look at it, I've had a few top of the line asses handle cars before and they would purposefully loosen/break something so we had to bring the car back etc. and I don't want to deal with that.

Thanks for the recommendation ozz, it was my cylinders. Master is bypassing internally and the slave is seeping and just this side of failing but the clutch its self is good.
By the way, they did recognize the name. Got a few Oh yeah he's a cool dude.

Apparently mechanics don't have common sense about things...I have to wait another day because they didn't think to order the hose that connects the cylinders.
I kind of assumed they were replacing the whole set because if 2/3 are failing it's safe to assume the 3rd is bad as well.

The rubber around the hose was deteriorating and cracking all along it and just by looking at the slave they should have seen the huge crack that was on the visible side of the hose.

Most oil leaks can be fixed on the car, and most common leaks are the front or rear main seals, OMP/ lines/ sealing washers, oil pan gasket. Several rotary engine builders such as myself prefer to use sealant for the oil pan instead of a gasket due to the constant expansion and contraction of the engine housings, just a suggestion for whomever repairs your leaks.
