Moving to Austin, TX - what are emissions like?
Well, I currently live in a county in Ohio with no emissions check. It's great, nothing to worry about at all . I'm catless and run meth injection.
What are the rules for getting your car inspected or emission checked in TX? Specifically looking in Austin, TX area. I'm not sure if it matter county by county.
Thanks

You're going to get both a visual and a smog if you have it done in Travis county.

Bell County does not perform emissions testing, the cities in Bell are Belton, Killeen/Ft Hood, Copperas Cove, Harket Heights, Temple. Bell county is close by, about a 30-45 minute (depending on what part of Austin you live in). Depending on which way you take, you could hit Belton or Killeen first. In Texas smog is up to the county.
You cant get in trouble by getting state inspection done in another county. Many of the car guys in Austin regularly get their cars inspected out of county. And police dont care. This isnt California.
But then again, if you can live in Temple, which is about a 45minute drive to austin, the commute isnt bad tbh.
