Motorsport Ranch (MSR) Cresson: New dues
Dear Motor Sport Enthusiast:
MotorSport Ranch near Fort Worth, TX is the first club of its kind - a
Country Club for Sports Cars. This driving club has been in operation almost seven
years now. Recent expansion has added a second track and even more
garage/storage buildings. The concept is catching on - other clubs around the country
have modeled themselves after ours, with even more on the way.
The Autobahn club in Jolliet, IL charges $25,000 to join. Even the new
MotorSport Ranch in Houston charges $7,000 initiation and $150 dues per month.
A regular membership at the original MotorSport Ranch has been only $2,400
for initiation and $75 per month dues. But this is about to change: on January
1, 2006, the cost of a regular membership will increase to $3,400 (plus tax =
$3,646.50), monthly dues will increase to $90 (plus tax = $96.53). This
increase will apply to members joining after January 1, 2006. Current members
will continue to pay the existing rates.
So if you or anyone you know has been contemplating joining the Ranch, you
might want to consider it before the new year.
Best regards,

I think we all have freinds that belong to the ranch, but it would sure be nice to go out there when the mood struck. I could really use it to test & tune. Another issue I would have with it is that my racing budget would suck wind to pay for it. I have several friends that used to belong but found that used it so infrequently that they gave it up. A timehare membership concept would be cool.

Very, very few people ever share my feelings but I'm not willing to spend much money on track days. It's not competition. People poo-poo autox all the time but at least you're running head to head with some people who can actually drive rather than just steering around the track all day and thinking you're learning anything. If there's no competition I'm bored after an hour.

Okay, maybe that's not fun unless you like troubleshooting handling problems. :p
