Hey Guys,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
I'm scouting around trying to figure out who's in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:place w:st="on">North Louisiana</st1:place>. I live in <st1:City w:st="on">Shreveport</st1:City>, <st1:State w:st="on">LA</st1:State> and own one of the three First Generation RX7's (as far as I know) in <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Shreveport</st1:place></st1:City> and so I'm looking to start/join an Rotary Club specifically for LA.
<o:p></o:p>
There's a local hangout up here in Shreveport where everyone goes (most of the time we go to Shrevecity) and I haven't been up there in the RX7 yet, I'm waiting to go in with a bang and laugh at all the posers with their riced out civics who haven't touched a bolt on their engine except for their "Cold Air Intake!".
Anywho, I am looking to join up with a few guys in LA, I'm only 17 and my mom lives in Denham Springs so I'm constantly making trips down to the south.
<o:p></o:p>
I've met Hosez(sp?) nephew who is an x-thunderbird club guy but he hasn't responded back to a PM at TCCoA (he sent me one to begin with) so I'm hoping he'll give me some insight on what to do performance wise (I'm FI, I have no idea where to find parts for FI RX7s).<o:p></o:p>
Does anyone tune RX7's in LA and if so how much does it cost?
<o:p></o:p>
Thanks,<o:p></o:p>
Eric M. Pelezo

Hey man! I'm not from north Louisiana, but I do have some information for you from the southern portion of our state.
As for mechanics around the state, check out this thread: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=370650
There is basically all the info you need to get started in pursuing a mechanic around Louisiana. I know Hassan from my autocrossing days, and he is a great guy with a lot of knowledge. I also met Freddy at a couple autocrosses back when, and he also seemed like a knowledgable guy.
As for clubs... I know of Sevens on the Shore, which is a club that is centered down here in New Orleans, but has members from all around. The club president, in fact, is a member here, although his screen name escapes me at the moment.
I know I have seen a few guys on here from northern Louisiana, but the majority, it seems, are from the southern area.
Good luck finding info and happy rotoring!

I'm from lake charles and trying to find anyone from here into rx7's is just pointless I have found but oh well maybe one day we will have an rx7 meet with everyone in louisiana somewhere in the central part so it wouldn't be to far for anyone. We are in the land of v8 trucks jacked up with huge freakin' tires so that it can make all these small men look like they may have big penises
oh well good luck man!

Jose Zeda is in Haughton on the main hwy. It would seem to me the best way to tune your 1st gen. would be to go w/ the formula of Spec 7 Racing - check Grassroots Motorsport magazine. Or, do a 13BREW transplant. That said, we do a lot of 3rd gen. stuff and a little FC work down here in the Houma - Thibodaux area.
I know there's a super clean, super fine red FB in Des Allemands that is an auto-x'er; Clean85owner I think. He could help you. Oops, I see he's posted already.
You need to PM Badass7 BEFORE you deal with anyone in the New Orleans area.

I'm here in shreveport. I have a white FD. I've seen another white FD, a red one, and rarely a black one. I see the red one a lot, but never when I am in my FD. I usually drive my truck. I used to see a lot of FB's, not so much anymore. A fair amount of FCs, usually multi faded reds, and a couple of white AEs. Jose is a great guy, but I don't think he does any tuning. I don't know anything about the FB, is it carb'd or FI'd? If it has a carb, then he could probably do something for you. I don't know where there is a dyno around here, but Jose has mentioned that there is one somewhere. You really should go by there anyway. It's cool to look around. He has several rotary powered oddities, and some piston powered ones as well. I don't think there are enough folks here for a club. I don't have any interest in hanging around shreve city either-drove through there once on a weekend.

Well,
There's a white first gen GSL down the street for sale, I own a light blue/silverish GSL-SE and then my dad owns a white GSL so there's a good amount around here, just not too many.
That's the reason I like Shrevecity because I get to laugh at all the people, I just mainly go up there to talk with friends and hang out.
Hoses nephew emailed me back and we're thinking about starting a Rotary/RX7-8 Club.
You can't miss me, I'm constantly wizzing through traffic (not in a dangerous way, I just drive fast). My dad owns a red rx8, I've only seen two or three in the youree drive area and they are all old people besides my dad.
Anywho, Jose doesn't have a dyno and I'm sure I'm going to have to upgrade the intake side as well as the turbo that I now have planned!
Thanks,
Eric M. Pelezo

BOT:
Pelezo, be proud that you represent the majority of the first gen. population up there, man! I love the fact that I have one of the only first gens around these parts; of course, I guess it does set you up for theft, though. Time to invest in a security system! *Gets on eBay* Heh.

Well,
If someone does want to try and steal it in Shreveport it won’t be hard to find.
"Yes officer, someone stole my first generation rx7, by the way, there's only three in Shreveport/Bossier area". HAH!
How do I go about upgrading the intake/FI/ecu part of this car? Is the ECU upgradeable on the car? I have a friend who runs Blue Chips for the Thunderbird Club; I might be able to ask him a favor.
Any websites? I don't want to go carbed because I'm deathly afraid of flooding it or doing something wrong and my knowledge about carbs is little to no.
Thanks,
Eric M. Pelezo

Hey, I live in Alexandria, just had my RX7 for about a month, gave my 17yo daughter who lives in Bossier my 96 Prelude for Xmas. I been a Conquest addict, but always wanted an RX7 and got a beaut from my lawyer who was just letting it sit. 85GLS-SE, exterior mint cond, trying to replace a few cracked interior pieces. Looking for a marroon driver's seat. Just retired frim the Army with 23yrs in and was declared totally disabled so all I have is time on my hands and spend it on Ebay and now this forum. Have to come to Shreveport to VA every month maybe we can get something going. Happy New Year
