Houston Rotary Specialists/Tuners
I searched, but all the post were pretty old. I know of a shop in League City, but I do not know if the do tuning on the PFC. Any suggestions on tuners in the SE Area of Texas would be great.

There aren't any RX-7 specific tuners or shops in the Houston area which modify or tune them. Some generic asian shops will do some modifications.
Maz Max will work on stock or close to stock cars, but will not modify cars, or tune PFCs.
The most knowledgeable rotory mechanics are members of the Houston club.
Kyle (twokrx7) and I (Chuck - cewrx7r1) are two of the most experienced part time/hobby modifiers and tuners of the PFC.
We have our own tools and test equipment, and we also can rebuild engines.
PM either one of us if interested.

Chuck is right... I would check wit hthe forums or the local RX-Club before letting anyone mess with your car. There are some sneaky self-proclaimed "tuners" out there looking to make a fast buck.

Don't one of you guys live in Pearland? I remember reading a post earlier about that. Thought I was going to be the only 7 in town

Hey man I have an RX8, just curious to weather or not you tune those to for future reference. And if you’re still in the houston area.

Shifting from 3rd to 4th, just heard a pop, and the clutch pedal went to the floor. I've got a few ideas as to the culprit. The vehicle will still go in gear with the engine off and will start and drive. Just can't change gears. The vehicle has 108,000km. I could not see any leaks and there is plenty of fluid in the brake master cylinder. I could not see any leaks underneath car, but I haven't actually lifted the car up to do a proper inspection underneath yet.

Most likely the clutch fork. The originals were weak and would break due to using a stronger clutch which were needed for modified engines.
Mine broke on one side many years but I was able to drive home.
The never forks are made stronger.
Jack the car up, remove the tyranny inspection port cover and look inside.
You will have to pull the transmission to fix it.
