Houston Coffee & Cars 03/02/2013

So, we had a great turn out last month so I wanted to get another group together for this weekend. Our only real issue was not really being able to park together but this week I will be arriving early to save some spaces. The plan is to arrive at 6:00am and cone off some spaces for the folks who post here that they want to come out so I'd like to make a list to get an idea of how many I will need to cone off.

I'm in. Keith (DrKillJoy) previously mentioned maybe setting up a designated area with the CC / Vintage Park folks for us, not sure if he is doing it this month or not... I'd ask. Just let me know where to show up.

I emailed them and was told that they don't reserve spaces (I'm guessing if we were ferrari's or Lambo's they would, lol) but that I could get there early and cone off an area for our group.

I would think if Norm is showing up early to set up cones the plan is probably to just head straight there ASAP.

Lori has been in NY and we weren't sure if we were going, but she's flying home tonight and we plan to go.

That's the same response I got last week. So anyone got some cones?

I'm somewhat out of my element on the far northside so if there is a good meeting place I'm in.

Otherwise maybe the best idea is to head straight to wherever littleguy is at in the parking lot like chief said.

Which brings me to the question how do we find that "spot"? As some of you know driving around Vintage Park looking for people isn't the easiest thing to do.

Thoughts?

I read somewhere that they only let you hold spaces untill 7:00, not 100% sure but just for your information. I'll know by Friday if I'm going to make it.

FYI - I've posted this thread on rx8club.com and rxclubofhouston.com as well as sent the reminder on FB. Hopefully we will get some responses to figure out how many spots we need to allocate.

Yep, I can hold the spaces until 7am, so if you all are going to meet up and cruise in together must make sure to arrive by 7!

I'll be arriving around 5:45 or 6:00am and I don't really mind if you guys want to meet somewhere and cruise in as a group, I just want to try and get an accurate headcount here for how many spaces we need. So far it's

Cool. We will try to get there about the same time as well. If you don't have a preferred spot to park our friends from the Mazdaspeed group invited us to park across from them.

They said "We always park on the fourth row on the left hand side, facing east"

I spoke with the Miata club too, they actually are on the row to the left so looks like there will be plenty of Mazda luv in the same general area. After Coffee and Cars some of us had talked about getting burgers at Cheeburger Cheeburger (link to pics below).

I will be arriving around 5:45 to make sure we get the spots, and make sure to make it there by 7am so I am not forced to give them up!

Do you own cones Norm? I will shoot to be there by 545 as well to help guard spaces with my rotary-powered assault rifle.

Awesome! I don't "own" any cones so to speak but I'm going to see if I can "borrow" some from the maintenance guy at my office. If not I'll just go buy some or use something else.

Just a heads up I have priced buying cones in the past for club meetings and they aren't exactly "cheap".

The 12 inch ones at Home Depot run about $8 each and those were the cheapest I've seen unless you look into the sports cones, but most of those are small enough to be driven over.

I just snuck out of work and bought 10 cones to block off spots!!

hello all.new to this place. own a new 82 fb gsl and a 2011 mazda2 (daily) im with nator if anyone knows who that is (big mazda/mazdaspeed group)

i go to c&c every month i get there around 6am and most clubs/groups will already be there. nator gets there around 630.

while the rule used to be dont put up cones (first come first park) that seems to have changed as almost everyone likes to put cones up. even it its 7am and noones in it....

anyway hope to see yall there. ill bring the 7 assuming it doesnt explode on the way there.
