I would have figured the free membership to TexasRXs with purchase of RX-8 would do that quite well. We will miss you guys. I'll save your share of BBQ.

 

well for whatever reason that doesn't seem to work too well, I'm not even 100% sure the dealerships we originally hooked up with are following through, but even if they do, we're not getting the interest because most folks are buying the 8 for its looks, and the salesman is doing a **** porr job of explaining the car and especially our club, to the customer. It really is too bad that about 5-6 events all have to be on the same day, maybe next year people can spread things out a bit as I'd love to go the airshow, the BBQ, heck, I might even be up for a roadtrip to okie for "tunerfest" or whatever, but to do this show and all that in one day is a bit much, and the cost of fuel fro my private jet is outrageous these days

well actually I'm a bit pissed about it, as this all happened to late for me to have any shot of making it out there, plus the road are jacked and I noticed today my tires are about to turn to dust so I'm basically hosed I'm going to be trying to pick up some tires this weekend and maybe even some wheels if everything works out.

 

I finally moved here to San Antonio and wondered if there is some kind of get together in this town. I sent a thread awhile back and some of you answered, but that thread is long gone. I'd like to meet some 1st gen RX-7 owners here!

what up dood, i gots me a first gen 2 actually but only one runs. got it like a month ago. i go to the benni's on i-10 off of the wurzbach exit. mostly just a bunch of ricers but i just go there with a couple of guys. we dont really go in benni's although i wouldn't mind they do have a bar. we do that most thursdays. it usually me(1st gen rx7), a guy on here called mastermind with a TII, and this chick with a rex she is cool haven't really talked to her much but her and her b/f seem cool. but if you're setting something up lemme know. pm me or i'll just check on this thread. oh it dont usually start till 930pm about.

Several people have tried to get San Antonio meetings together....

Typically they come and go, but nothing seems stable (at least from the what I see on the intarweb)...

I merged a few of the recent threads together so you guys can get it going on.

 

SA seems to be full of loners when comes to cars that have RX in the name. It would be nice to get a RX only meet going so people wouldn't have to deal with the ricers.

I know my own personal problems with making the meets that have been held are that I work on the weekends and I can't stay out until 2am during the week.

As for a 7 only meet, we've had issues with just not a lot of them in the area. We have others in the group(like some Srt's) that aren't a bunch of ricers. Drop me a PM and a way to get a hold of you so we can meet up. Lately I've been showing up on either my VTX or the SRT-4( http://mazdafreak.com/TheToys.html ). My 1st Gen is down until I remove the rats nest(I have the block off plate, just need to do it). Then, coming in may/june, I'll be doing a 20B swap into it.
