East TX Rotary Club

so im considering starting an east texas rotayr club, lately ive met quite a few rx7 owners from around hte longview, nacagdoches and tyler area.

i myself am located in tyler and thinking about throwing a little meet, cruise and bbq.

im posting here to see if it peak's anyones interest, the meet would most likely take place in tyler.

no uidea on when i could put this on as funds for me are a little low and my 7 is down for now.

like i said, just gauging interest, pm me or post hjere if you would be interested.

so far i know of 3 fc's, 4 fb's and 3 fd's and a handfull of 8 owners that allready said the would gladly join.

Man, if i keep the 7 i'd hook up and cruise Tyler with ya....theres alot of parking lots on the strip and we could scream through all of them....haven't taken my 7 to tyler yet...its only 40 minutes....i'm in Palestine....you should come down here, but your not missing anything here...hell, not even the mall has anything in it...its just empty spaces....THIS TOWN BLOWS. Plus cops like to follow me around and gawk to try and get me to do something stupid in my car....i just go under the speed limit and then pull over and act like i'm looking in the glove box and they drive by real slow....Cops Dont Like My Car!!

whelp tranny is on the way, ive got a friend coming to drop it in and help, it will be about 2 -3 weeks for delivery, so im waiting for it to bet back up.

haha cant arange an rx7 meet without showign up in one.

count the fd guys out.....

my friend ben is having way too much trouble, another guys is down for paint work, another guy MIGHT be able to bring his fd out.

there are apparently 2 more fd's ive seen, but well, with no rx7 and friends that werent willing to turn around and chase them down for me, makes it obvious that i couldnt invite them.

haha so really, it looks like there will be a few fc's and a handfull of 1st gens.

still no plans on a date or time....
if all goes well and there arent problems, i would love to see this thing grow and finnaly see the rotay community around the tyler, palestine, nacagdoches ect. area become like a nice rotary family.

as far is im concerend, it would be great for people to be able to get together and help eachother out, as we rx7 owners are left out in the cold when it comes to getting a mechanic.

thats pretty much my goal for it.

us rotary guys need to stick togetehr haha

well, this is my car, i hope to see you guys aroudn when i set up a meet, it may not be for another month.

right now, im in a bit of a financial bond, so i cant go throrugh with a full plan of a BBQ along with the meet.

but the meet up, talk and cruise seems great still, all im wiating for to give it a date is my transmission.

Did any of yall ever see my Fd? I have a lake house out in Emory, at lake fork. it was a silver 93' touring. I think it's interesting to see that there are actually rx7's out there and not just trucks right on!

Not too much longer, the transmission gets in tomorrow, i throw it in thursday or friday.

ive still got planning to do, looks like it may be the last weekend of this month, with no official date yet.

it seems like the meet will most likely take place at the starbucks on broadway.

hope to see a few other 7 owners out there, between the couple i know and the few that said they would be up for it on this forum, it will be a fun little outing.

Ill come out if i can get the rest of my TII GSL-SE swap done and bring my car back to SFA(nacogdoches) with me when spring break is over. SHould be done all ive got left is to mount the radiator and intercooler, put a new body harness in, and run the vacuum lines for the oil injectors.

oh and find another leading coil because someone stole mine??(kina wierd that they didnt take the haltech or turbo or any performance parts that were with it in my patio)

Talking

Longview, Texas here, have an '82 Rex. I have to do minor brake work, and hunt down an oil leak and fix it, which should happen next week, but I'm in! I have also been thinking of starting an Rx-7 Club of sorts here in town, as well. Also, if there are any half-***/full blown rotary mechanics that can check out this oik leak, I'd be very thankful

It'd be very nice to meet with some RX owners near me. for those interested, up here in Texarkana we have an autocross every first saturday of the month. I've heard of a shop in atlanta tx that supposedly going to have a dyno put in. I'm not sure on that as of yet but will find out when I can.

I finnaly got her up and driving, now i just need to get her insured.

still no set date as to the fact, finances are verry tight right now, but when it happens, it looks like there will be a descent turnout non the less. between the people in town, and if all the people here made it, it would be quite the event.

Looks like we now have a place to do it, it will most likely be on a sunday afternoon.

looks like it will be at the new k-mart on loop 323, dirrections will come as soon as a date is set.

sorry for all the delays, gettin stuff in order just seems to take time.

it will be in tyler tx.

there will have to be groudn rules for the meet, whever we meet at, show respect for others property (no burnouts or donuts)

just be mattuee about it, were here to meet and enjoy eachither's company and cars, not to show off.

something like that would ruin it for the next time, so lets not let that happen

i know this may be hard to do, but be careful when on the streets when we all cruise......for everyones safety.

i just ask you use common sense and keep others in mind.

Wherever you're thinking about meeting, make sure you call the owner of the lot and ask permission.
