DFW RX-7 October and then September (?)2011 Meet Thread...

I was at an expo this morning at the Richardson Eisemann Center and saw a really nice looking red FC vert (s4) parked outside. Then, while heading back to downtown I spotted a fairly stock looking red FD.
Are either owners here on the forum?? Very clean cars!!

The red 3rd gen may have been me if it was in Richardson. What road were you on?

Well, I work off Arapaho and Glenville, just east of Hwy 75. I am south bound on 75 in the mornings going to work around 9:00-9:30 a.m.
There is a completely stock red 3rd gen that is lurking around the same area(ish). I've only seen him once or twice, though.

Aj, I knew he worked somewhere over there by you! I see that one every once in a while.

I just retitled this one since someone was getting all lazy about his responsibilities to the South Forum.
If it doesn't rain, I should be there this time and I'll have some small stuff for "door prizes"...sorry, no airport liquor.
8 PM, tho? Can we kick it any earlier....?

^ I'd bring the FC up there, but there's nothing special about a stock FC with chipping paint and exhaust leak
I should be able to make it out to the meet at night though. So far the car has not left me stranded anywhere.
BTW, I'm still working on that map. Things are a little busy here at work, so I'm strapped for time to do the travel times. I still need some people's zip codes though. I'll contact you guys in the near future.

Who cares? My FD has original, 17 year old paint on it. It cleans up well, but in certain light/angles, the clear is very hazy. Come on up if you want!

So, it's looking like I won't be able to make it this time, I'll try but I'm pretty sure work will find a way to stop me from going.
What's so special about a stock fc and fd? A 32 year old car that is most likely 95% stock is special, and it has no major issues. :P

I'm out on C&C this month. I'm training for the White Rock Half in December and doing a "long run" on Saturday morning.
I am, however, expecting to attend the meet Saturday. If you guys ever wanted to do a cruise again, there is a new bar in Victory Park called Draft Picks. I've watched a few college fb games there...TVs everywhere! Food's isn't bad either. Just thought I'd float that one out there.

Hope it all went well....I had a fun afternoon and was glad when the "event" happened when it did, after the shopping run as opposed to before it. I dived into a corner off of the 360 south frontage road and heard a boom and lost all brake pedal pressure. Luckily, I had scrubbed the speed for the dive and was hard on the brakes and releasing when it went, already starting the corner....I drove through it and this horrible rattling is coming from my driver's side front wheel. I slowed down by downshifting and was toiling along at 20 mph with my hazards on when the part finally came off and flew out of the fenderwell.....it was the brake pad itself.
It took about a half hour to get it home and here she is at 5 PM....I could only find the caliper piston pushed out and no other damage, so hopefully, the pad replacement is all that will need to be done. It's too dark out to bed the brakes and the cops are all out looking for drunks anyway. I'll find out tomorrow...the test drive around the block felt normal. So far, so good.
Hope the meet went well, the weather was definitely working in y'all's favor.
