Geez...I'm out. Dad wants me there early to set up a separate stereo center for the hot tub area in the backyard so there can be two music areas for the party independent of each other. Glad I picked up Richter12X2's spare Sony system now.

Y'all take care, crossing my fingers for the September event.

Who's all going?

EJayCe996 08-06-11 04:19 PM

My current situation is looking "iffy" but already tilting towards being not likely. Plus I get ample time to let it sink in that I'm probably going to have to run AN lines all the way from the pump to the bay.

CHA-CHING!

hades 08-06-11 06:30 PM

got day drunk after work so no driving. I haven't had time to get the final details buttoned up.

hope you guys had fun at C&C

Buy an AN flare tool, tubing bender, and a coil of steel or aluminum tubing and bend up your own lines. Steel's easy to find in 3/8", 20 foot rolls. Aluminum in 3/8 or 1/2", too. Aluminum just has to be supported every foot or so with adel clamps.
You could also try some of the newer fabric/kevlar braided hoses. Cheaper than SS braided? I need to look at the same things to convert my '70 Cutlass to EFI (need a return line, at least.)

Looks like I'll be working on my bud's truck this evening. Too hot during the day...
Jiminy Christmas, its still in the '90s at midnight here lately.

10thaniv 08-06-11 08:02 PM

I like the heat but not for such a long time. When I take the 7 out for a spin my engine bay temps get up to 149F+ MAF temp and it shows that my water/meth injection is workiing due to the lower temps at the TB 20f+ less while in boost. Before I had H2O/AL inj the intake temps would always be higher than the MAF temp sensor. I can't wait to see my intake temps in the winter. I dont think I'll go out to Irving, but I my take a spin to the Starcenter, my brother plays hockey there. See ya'll

Lol lol well either you guys broke up the meet early or I'm the only one that came here!!
I'm leaning towards the latter... But I had my hopes up that there would be at least a couple people here :(
Next month fo sho there better be some actual attendance, before you know it it's gonna be winter again and no one will come cause it's cold!

hades 08-06-11 09:13 PM

I drove mine around Loop 288 in Denton tonight to make sure it can make it to the meet. 180ish temps on the highway and no coolant puddles so I should make it next week.

I am planning on hitting up Steve's Dyno Day unless I suddenly have to work.

Non-SS AN lines are all I use anyway. SS is too bling and not as flexible.

I was there for about twenty minutes but no one showed so I left. Got on the tollway for some carbon cleaning pulls, wasn't too hot. Maybe next month.:icon_tup:

The fb is currently pissing oil everywhere, parts where supposed to be in my hands yesterday but they never came hence my absence. hopefully next month eh.

OK, if everyone's offering excuses.... I've got some mysterious boost leaks. Plus I recently rebuilt the alternator and not too sure if the things working properly yet or not. Like hades mentioned, I need to drive it around town for a while before I'm convinced it won't leave me stranded at Royal lane and 35 again. Some strange people there late at night...

Starfox07 08-08-11 03:02 PM

I'm just curious here, as the meets have been in Irving for some time now, is this location still ideal for everyone? I'm now in west fort worth, so it's quite a drive for me. It seems like Arlington would be the best place in my eyes. The roads are much simpler and easier to navigate (the freeways northwest of Dallas are a nightmare!), and it seems to be the 'most central' place in DFW. There are a bunch of places along I30 that would probably be good to meet up. Just a thought.

mar3 08-08-11 05:12 PM

I'll second a North Arlington location...the only problem is the Arlington Police....they hate meets and cruises that happen at night. :(

Frankenrex 08-08-11 09:42 PM

Euless is in the middle, too. Something right off of 183 would be good. Hmmm... There's a Home Depot at Industrial whose parking lot connects to a Denny's and a Starbucks. Other stuff across the highway, I think. Or at Central Drive, there's a parking lot with a Chili's, Duke's Roadhouse, Starbucks, and others. On The Border is nearby. Just a thought.

No_love_for_pistons 08-09-11 11:46 AM

It sounds like we're having ourselves a mutiny.

DFW airport is geographically the most central spot in DFW. If people want to send me the zip codes they live in, I can plot it all on a map and we can get a better representation of where we'd all be coming from.

EJayCe996 08-09-11 12:19 PM

I'll take a looksie at Bikini's Arlington parking lot this Sat night to see what their Sat night "traffic" is like. Their parking lot is behind the establishment so it isn't exactly a high visibility attention drawing spot. THEN we can go eat IN bikinis!

*sigh* the sacrifices I'm wiling to make for you guys :suspect:

Almost any place off of 30, 20, or 183 on a Sat night is just going to be an overwhelming amount of "party traffic"

The Dr. Pepper Starcenter was quite nice when I drove out there saturday evening, the lighting was good, and to cool off you can go inside have a beer and watch free hockey. Great meeting place during summer months. Then switch back to Irving during cooler weather.

Dude, I vote for that. Right near my house, and easy to get to, just off 157 and 183.

Everybody please PM this chap so he can give us a true field study with statistically significant results. ;)

I've already sent my PM.

Now, the September meet will once again be falling on a major, major holiday weekend. Maybe we should start talking now about who's going to be in town or if that one needs to be shoved off for a week.

The first Saturday in September is the 3rd.

If it matters the back lot at Bikinis wasn't packed at all when I was there 8-9PM on Sat.
