DFW RX-7 Club monthly meet - February 3rd, 2024
The DFW RX7 Club will be holding its monthly meet this Saturday at 7 pm, we will be in the parking lot behind Cheddars at 635/MacArthur Blvd. Given that it is a holiday weekend and many of our member have already planned accordingly, we're going to have another meet next Saturday (7/13) at the same time and place.

Something like BDays is ALWAYS happening for me in January, March, May, June, July and August. Is there ANY way we could start having this event on the THIRD Saturday of each month??

Bring it on out when it's running again, always good to have another 7 there.

I'd hope with the passage of time that the V-8 powered RX-7's weren't vilified anymore but looked upon as curious creatures put together by folk intimidated by the rotary engine...which I honestly can't blame them for...question is, do these meets even happen anymore?

Edit: See that the meet got pushed to next weekend....will pin this thread and retitle as needed...

Dang it. Got busy and forgot even with reminders set...
Was planning on getting the AE86 a little exercise, since I hadn't been to the last couple meets, and it just sit there otherwise.

Welp, things have def changed. Attendance was good with about 10 - 15 people and lot more 1stgen's than I normally used to see a long time ago. The 3rdgen contingent was heavy with beautiful cars and engine bays. We had several people drop in from the restaurants to see what so many hoods were up in the parking lot and that was change number one. You look at that pic from 2019 and that was the how it used to be...empty parking lot. This time around, that parking lot is being used by a lot of regular folk going to the bars and restaurants, so we had some rotary folk who had to park away from the main brace of FD's that showed earlier than 7 and managed to get all together.
Second change was way more ominous. Almost to the person, when asked, it was "RX7Club...who?"
I forgot my camera, so have no pics and my dumbphone can't send pictures, never set it up. D'Oh.

Indeed, it was a good meet. Though I've been to the meet only three times since I moved to DFW, this was my first time since finishing my project-that-never-ends CYM FD. Plenty of eye-candy, and interesting rotorheads... very cool! Looking forward to attending in the future.

...and I'm going to miss tonight's meet....got contractors digging up the area around the driveway where we are going to widen it so my family can have no cars parked in the street...it's really bad in this neighborhood and I don't want to be a contributor to the eyesore.
Hope anyone hitting the meet tonight can get some pics and post them up here as opposed to Facebook! I still haven't got that account unlocked....left it for dead for 15 years!

I'll bet that parking lot will be really packed and not with rotary powered vehicles...I've got a birthday dinner to go to tonight, so I'll miss this one...this first Saturday of the month timing works against me because so many of the birthdays fall on the first of the month....

Looking at historical data, it seems there's never an Independence Day weekend meeting but changing the title nonetheless....maybe we oughtta kick it to the following Saturday...?

There was one last month, where were you? :P They post on the Facebook page rather than here, but generally speaking it's every month regardless.
I missed this one - worked outside a bunch then went in to er, recover and didn't wake up until like 8 PM.
edit: OK, FB page doesn't show?
