Had a good time at the meet again. To bad more don't show up like it was back in the day. Still all 3 gens were there: 2 FB's, 5 FC's, and 1 FD.

Sweet... your pics are the last ones that show my FC only had 1 bad side...

This is why people need to look before making a left turn... so you don't pull out infront of other people!

She was at fault, I dunno if its gonna be totalled... KBB says its worth 3k, with paint I think its 3k of damage. Seems to be all cosmetic, the core support still looks good even!

I think you can force them to replace up to the amount of the blue book even if they say it's totalled. But after your friend ended up with a 87 Turbo II in damn nice condition for $3500, it might be worth letting them write you a check.

Oh hey, want to trade hoods? Seriously? I've still got a steel hood in good condition - I've been hanging onto it so I can cut a couple of squares out of it to fill the hood pin holes on my TII hood. If you want it, bring your car over. We'll put the good hood on your car and leave your crashed one so I can cut squares out of it. It's the same color as my car, the one on the left in my signature, but it's better than driving around with a crushed hood.

Thanks for the offer man, I'll let you know once I hear from the adjuster. Should know if it is totalled or not by tomorrow.

Honestly, I'd kinda rather a total... like you said, I could throw a little more cash on top of it and find a nice TII. Besides, the car was kissing 200k miles. I'd rather just start off building up a car with a TII. Less parts I gotta hunt down.

If they decide to fix it, I'll try to get the bent hood back from them and just give it to ya.

Edit: Forgot to mention, her insurance called me... they say she's at fault too. Wewt. I was so scared I'd have to fight it. She was afraid of a rate increase. Its kinda refreshing to have someone admit blame and not try to fight everything.

Woot! Thanks for teh pics!

No, that happened on Sunday, around 5pm .

Whats worse, I came home from work and my apt complex put a sticker on it saying they will tow it by 10-12!!! I'm supposed to have 2 weeks to get an immobile car running, or to a shop... I didn't get 24 hours! Insurance hasn't even had time to send someone out!

I'm raising massive ammounts of hell tomorrow. If there's a big *boom* near Dallas/Richardson tomorrow... it wasn't me....

It is some kind of racing wheel though, I recognized the name from SportsCar magazine. Along the lines of Weld or Weds or something, but I don't think that was it.

My car has been totalled .

I will hear from the adjuster tomorrow.

WTF is with insurance companies and only doing one thing per day?! How do they expect me to be getting to work?!

Prepare yourself - do a search on other similar RX7's from the same year with similar mileage because they'll try to lowball you, but if they total your car, if you haggle with them, I think they can be made to pay actual replacement cost of your car.

Alternatively, hang on to your car, and if you do your own work you can come in well under the estimates. I've got a free hood for you, a fender usually runs about $65-80, the front bumper cover about $150 (or if there's a body kit with a full front bumper you want, upgrade!), then if you do your own mounting prep and paint work, you can spend less than $400 and repaint the whole car. If you have to rent a good sized compressor, maybe up that to $500. So for under $800 you're back where you started, with a check for $1700 or so to upgrade. (Like J-spec TII?)

Painting the car yourself is hard work, but it's not difficult to get good results out of it if you take the time. Maybe I'll do it for you for a small fee if you buy the paint, depending on what I've got on my plate for the next couple of months.

Thanks a lot.

I think the passenger fender can probably be reused, just needs to be tweaked a bit.

KBB fair value is $3k, I'm going to try to get 3300 out of them just so when we settle on 3k they think they've won.

I'd love to be able to get it back on the road, but with it being my only car the downtime is killing me. I already told them I may buy it back. I'll probably part it out or just sell off the shell after I take my parts off of it. No way is it going to the wreckers with my new suspension, brakes, and glass moonroof! That suspension is 2 weeks old .

Well, if you do part it, I need the little metal piece that attaches the radio bezel to the dash. Also the wiper switch, logicon, and air mix motor, and your battery depending on how much you want for them. And actually, if you're going to junk it, I need the driver's quarterpanel, too.

I got a spare logicon, I'll bring it to the BBQ for you. Don't have the metal inside the dash, damned theives. My wiper switch is a rebuilt unit and works on all settings .

Moving the car to my parent's place tonight, apt management company is getting pissy about the car. I will know by Friday what they'll give me for the car.

Awesome! Thanks! Now I just got to get the A/C and blower back in It's like a video game or something "Can I get to work in the morning before the windshield completely fogs over?" And my wife keeps giving me crap over my coat hanger "Air Mix Motor" but it works!

It was one of our smallest turnouts that I've seen. HIN was the same night, not to mention "THE GAME"
